Bigg Burger makes the best burgers Iāve ever eaten, but its customer service has become so combative and inept that I can no longer recommend eating there.
Iāve ordered daily at Bigg Burgerās drive-thru for more than a month. They offer a great deal for repeat customers: a $25 gift card for $20, usable on later orders, bringing my regular $8.42 order down to $6.74. But after dozens or hundreds of visits, their service quality has collapsed.
Iām writing this on April 23rd, 2025. Here are the issues Iāve had in just the past week:
April 16 (~6PM): I drive in. Just over $8 on my card. I hand it and my credit card to the cashier, asking for another $25 gift card. The employees are flabbergasted, thinking I want to reload $25 onto the card I gave them. After nearly ten minutes of back-and-forth, I point and say, "You have a sign stuck to the drive-thru window that says, 'Special Offer: $25 Gift Card for $20, asterisk, not usable on today's order.ā"
One cashier pokes his head out of the window and turns his head. "I was not aware of that," he says. "One moment, please."
To his credit, this second cashier apologizes profusely. I tell him itās an honest mistake and not to worry about it. He gives me a free Fanta for the trouble.
April 19 (~3PM): Again, only $8 left on my card. I order a new gift card with my burger. The cashier swipes my credit card first, charging the entire order to it. A manager intervenes, explaining they must refund the order, charge my gift card, then process the new gift card purchase separately. In total, getting my order takes more than ten minutes. I count six or seven cars waiting behind me before I finally get my food and gift card.
April 21 (~3PM): The cashier is obviously ESL, but thatās fineāmy parents were immigrants, and I can forgive stilted English from a recent arrival. She hands me my food without asking me to pay.
āI havenāt paid yet?ā I say, holding out my gift card. (Itās not like we need less honesty in this world.) She bills me.
I get home. My order has three mistakes: wrong cheese, no pickles, and no tomatoesāeven though, confusingly, tomatoes were correctly listed on my receipt.
Oh well. Itās still a hamburger. Not worth driving back to demand a refund. Still, I hang the receipt from my carās sun visor as a visual reminder to check future orders before leaving.
April 23 (~7PM, today): When I drive up, the cashier (the middle manager from the 19th, I think) angrily accuses me of having driven off without receiving my food. She says they threw away my order, now have to remake it, and demands I pay for two burgers.
As best as I can reconstruct, this is what actually happened:
Before I arrive, a white SUV pulls in and orders. They wait a long, long time.
As this happens, I place my own order.
The SUV grows tired of waiting and drives off without their food.
Employees, seeing no car at the window, throw away the food from the SUVās order, which was apparently identical to mine.
A white-ish sedan vaguely resembling my car (also a white sedan) pulls in behind me on camera. Employees mistakenly believe the original driver returned.
I pull up to the window, and then the middle manager walks overā
I try explaining that the car that just drove off was a white SUV ahead of me. The middle manager gives me a condescending look and tells me weāre not here to discuss what cars were in the drive-thru.
I offer to park my car, come inside, and review the camera footage with them to prove Iām not the customer who drove away. The manager refuses because āitāll take too long.ā She says either I pay for two burgers, or I have to come back another day.
I choose neither. This is the last straw. Bigg Burger, Iāve been a regular patron since high school, and a daily customer for literally more than a month.
I am never eating at your restaurant ever again. Go through your payroll and clean house, or you deserve to shut down forever.
Livonia can do without you. Thankfully, thereās a McDonaldās just down the street that can pick...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I had driven past Bigg Burger on countless occasions, and we finally got around to stopping in two days ago. We both can honestly say that we wish we hadn't waited so long to stop in.
As with any restaurant, my wife and I always assess the level of cleanliness when we arrive. I'm happy to say that, unlike a number of fast food restaurants, Bigg Burger had clean floors, clean tables, clean doors, and a clean counter.
The menu is not extensive but that's okay because what we did purchase was done right. I had the Bigg Fish Combo, and my wife had the Bigg Single Combo. As an added bonus, there are 28 additional toppings & spreads that you can request on your sandwich. Most are free with only a handful that had an additional charge.
From what we could tell all orders are prepared fresh rather than sitting under a heat lamp for hours. My fish wasn't heavily battered, drowning in grease, or overly salty. Rather, the light breading added the right amount of crunch to the tender fish filet. My wife loved her burger, and commented that the tomato was very fresh.
We were both very pleased with the thin cut French fries, which were served in a generous portion. The fries were hot, golden, and not overly salty. We loved them so much we opted to begin with the fries!
Overall, the good food, clean environment, and friendly employees provided us with a pleasant dining experience. We would certainly recommend Bigg...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered an online pick up today that was messed up. I tried calling but the phone line was 'unavailable', so here is my complaint. Online ordered 2 spicy crispy chicken sandwiches (both to come regular: with spicy mayo and pickles, and on one, added cheese and avocado) with sauces to come on the side (2 ranch, 1 regular mayo) all of which cost me extra. Instead I got 1 spicy chicken sandwich with only ranch and regular mayo ON the sandwich (no spicy mayo, no pickles), and the other as was ordered, with the spicy mayo, pickles, cheese, and avocado, and I'm assuming ranch? Also, the sandwiches were mislabeled on their packaging. I didn't receive my extra sauces on the side.
Placing an online order seems to be quite straightforward and clear, so I'm very surprised and displeased about the mix up. Even more displeased about their phone being unavailable... leaving this review here isn't what I would have preferred, I'd much rather talk to the manager to get it cleared up. I paid extra for the sides and then my sandwiches were all messed up with them on the bun and missing the pickles and spicy mayo.
Before this, all my experiences here were stellar and their food is very good. Just not happy about my messed up...
