We recently hosted our kids’ birthday party at Livonia Italian Bakery & Cafe, and I truly can’t say enough good things—it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. They handled every little detail with such care and professionalism that it took all the stress off our shoulders and let us just enjoy the celebration. The space was adorable and cozy, and the setup was flawless. The kids had a blast making pizzas and decorating mini cakes (such a cute touch!). The food was fresh and delicious, and everything came out on time and beautifully presented. What really made the experience shine, though, was the staff. They were on top of everything—checking in with us often, keeping things running smoothly, and making sure every guest felt taken care of. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN LIVONIA ITALIAN BAKERY. I have been a loyal customer for decades and today I drove from my new home in Commerce Twp to Livonia expecting to get the Thursday pizza special of buy one get one free. Arrived to find none in the cooler as advertised so I asked if there were any more to put out. Was told no so I asked to substitute the larger pizza for the unavailable 2 smaller ones (which is the exact same size total) and was told no. I then asked at the cashier and she told me the same. I asked to speak to a manager who came out and told me the same. The owner doesn’t allow this substitution. I told her to please tell the owner that he just lost a valuable customer who has been supporting him for many, many years. I drove over 20 miles and get this unbelievable customer service. I will be sure to pass this along to my many friends who also frequent the bakery and I’m sure they won’t be too eager to continue with their business there either. We just had a grad party with catering from the Livonia Italian Bakery, and it truly was the best experience ever! Franco worked with me on the menu. Unlike other caterers I’ve worked with in the past, he was not pushy at all, and truly listened to our needs. The food was fabulous! We went with mostaccioli meatballs, breadsticks, salad, party sub, and pastry tray (GET THE PASTRY TRAY!) We decided to have our party staffed with an employee from the Bakery, Juliana, and she was a godsend! She made it so I could enjoy the party because she took care of everything, from monitoring the food to collecting guests’ used plates, restocking our coolers with pop and water, packing up the leftovers, tying up our trash, and cutting the cake.
