This is absolutely one of my top 3 favorite Chinese food restaurants. We have been going here since they opened.
I think if you are used to the traditional Americanized Chinese food, this might seem like it’s subpar, but actually they use fresh ingredients and they don’t laden all of their dishes with MSG, heavy salt, thick goopy gravies…
We had the egg drop soup and yes it is a broth-based soup that isn’t heavy with thickeners or MSG. My husband always has to add salt to it. But it is prepared perfectly, and is delicious- When we first ordered this year’s ago, we thought we got a water down soup and that’s not the case at all-
Today we shared the chicken pad Thai with extra egg and added fried tofu. They made the dish perfectly. This was our first time having it and yes, it’s more of a Chinese version of pad Thai I didn’t care for the large chunks of onion I prefer the green onion. The sauce was semi-sweet, but not over the top.
My only complaint with today’s meal was that it was too huge of a portion for the container that they shoved it into and the extra sauce all spilled off out into the bag. This leaves the pad Thai, which is a noodle dish, a bit dry- The picture looks like it’s a huge container but it’s actually they’re smaller lunch container which has three food areas on the inside- I would prefer that they use a container that’s just one open space on the inside, and cut down on the amount of noodles so that it fits into the container without overflowing-
The chicken eggrolls were prepared perfectly. They weren’t...

Atmosphere is pretty bare, TBH. A handful of tables and an order counter, but the smells from the kitchen are inviting! At least they still offer dine-in, which is getting rare in Chinese restaurants.
Best cabbage egg rolls I've had yet. Still crunchy and delicious out of the fridge the next morning.
The sweet and sour shrimp was nicely breaded, well prepared, and again, very generous with the serving.
Szechuan chicken was good but could have been hotter for my taste. Plenty of protein, and good mix of vegetables that weren't cooked to death.
Almond boneless chicken was nice and crispy. Not shaved so thin it got oily. Sauce was good. RBI double, not a home run.
Soups were good. Three out of four of our party appreciated the giant won tons.
Definitely will visit again...
Read moreYeah...no...not my favorite place. Surprised this place gets a solid 4.3 on Google reviews. Friendly people for sure, good prices and clean looking location as well. But the food was subpar. Had the almond chicken...people who eat a lot of almond chicken from different places will know what I mean...in that it was overly greasy. The outside of the breading was crispy like you'd hope but the breading was just mush on the interior, like it wasn't cooked quite enough or there was too much there. Plus, like I said, was that cheap, greasy, chewy type of almond chicken. The eggroll wasn't much better...it was the cheaper all-cabbage and no bean sprouts kind. Not the good ones. The wonton soup actually wasn't bad...maybe not the best I've ever had but decent enough. But I could hardly eat much of the main course and left half the eggroll too. There are just way too many great Asian restaurants in SE Michigan to ever have to go here,...
