Zerbo's just lost a customer today. Anybody who frequents this store should already know that the majority of the people who work here are... well, to put it mildly I'll just say generally "unhelpful". Regardless, they are conveniently located for me and carry the fermented Bubbies pickles and sauerkraut that I eat DAILY. I purchase roughly 2 jars of the large kraut and a large jar of the pickles every week. The last jar of pickles I bought was bad. I know this, because I eat them daily, and I know what they are supposed to taste like. They were mushy and tasted spoiled sour, not the lactic-acid sour you would expect. No biggie I thought, when I go for more kraut I'm sure they will exchange them. WRONG. I took the jar back today and explained why I wished to exchange them, and was immediately met with attitude. I was then asked if I had me receipt, which is (I suppose) a reasonable question, so i calmly explained that I did not, I buy these EVERY week from this store, have never had an issue, and really, WHO SAVES A RECEIPT for pickles?!?! I was not asking for money, only for them to make good on the item that i paid for, and wanted a straight up exchange. I was basically told that without a receipt, I was stuck with them. Their store policy does clearly state, in writing hung.. multiple places throughout the store that "NO REFUNDS WILL BE OFFERED WITHOUT A RECEIPT, NO EXCEPTIONS", but I wasn't asking for a refund, just a non rancid $8 jar of pickles. I thought his was a reasonable request. They didn't. Well Zerbos, I know my roughly $80 a month I was spending at your store in pickles and kraut may not make me customer of the month, but you lost it. I will be finding a new store to shop at, even if it means driving way out of my way, because I am NOT saving every pickle jar receipt, and I would like to think that an $8 jar of pickles carries some sort of assurance that it won't be spoiled before I get it home. Your store should have made this right, and in the long run that gesture would have retained me as a customer, but I guess that one jar of pickles wasn't worth my continued loyalty...
Read moreIn my opinion, the hardest parts of eating truly healthy are: 1. Food that actually tastes good and 2. Food that REALLY is healthy (not deceptive packaging). Zerbos is the answer to both of these issues, therefore I don't mind driving 15 miles and passing a dozen competitor stores to get to it! Zerbos has become my main grocer because it's the ONLY place you can buy healthy food and it is absolutely delicious 99.9999% of the time; is there anywhere else you can say that about? I've spent absurd amounts of money at Kroger on health conscious chips, pastries, wraps etc and I guarantee cardboard would taste better. This isnt the case at Zerbos. They have the highest skilled product buyers of all time. Seriously, you can walk into Zerbos and buy anything without worrying that you'll be throwing it away in a week. Heck, I cant count the times I've bought something and loved it so much I went back the next day to score more. Since I started shopping here I have only had literally 1 (ONE!!!!) thing I disliked, so if your arguement is that Zerbos is a little expensive, ok, well how much money do you waste when you throw out the Kroger inedible organic burritos and the horrid whole wheat rolls that expired in 24 hours? Not to mention that the Zerbos food is seriously amazing. I bought Urban Cheesecraft non dairy Pepper Jack and OMG, its should be named "better than cheese". I also got these little "eat it raw birthday cake cookie doughs" and I'll admit I finished 5 in 1 day. My kids didnt even know the corn dogs were vegetarian! I have been excited to try the black bean, chive and onion vegetarian burgers but I cant stop eating the Pepper Jack....and the pepper jack is made from BEANS!!!! YES, I SAID BEANS! I also found these incredible beet ejuice that are so good I skipped my morning coffee today because I was craving one - add that to the list of things I never...
Read moreI was bawling my eyes out in the parking lot and made myself go in zerbos because I needed to buy baby food for my cat who is dying. I was rudely greeted at the door by Joe who demanded that I put on a mask when I was wearing a face shield. I told him that doctors and hospitals even accept them and why wouldn't a store? He said you cannot go past this point , this is a privately owned store and I will call the police. We have done this many times before.! I told him I wanted to talk to the owner and he said she wasn't there. I explained that a friend of mine is friends with the owner and I have a medical condition and can't wear a mask. He said he didn't care and I walked past him and he followed me and said I wasn't allowed to buy anything in the store. You talk about taking away people's rights! He called the manager after me and she came with a mask and told me I either had to leave the store or I had to put the mask on and I wouldn't be able to buy anything. I also explained to her that I had a medical condition and that a friend of mine knew the owner and I wanted to talk to her. I left the store and they lost a customer and money. I think it is really sad that there are 10 complaints on these reviews about their treatment of people wearing masks and still nothing is done about it . I wonder how many people have felt this way and didn't write anything in the reviews. The owner probably doesn't realize the treatment of these customers but I certainly will let her know through her friend. I really don't think the owner would appreciate their harassment of...
