Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently began working in Livonia and had been driving past this place almost daily picking up lunch from other places. I had mixed feelings of whether or not I wanted to try them based on the reviews (costtaste), but one day I wanted authentic Mexican tacos bad, so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the lunch tacos (corn shells) which comes with two tacos, beans, and rice, and a canned soda, along with an ala carte chicken enchilada, with a side of sour cream. Between that, and the 3.8% fee for using a card to pay, my bill was roughly $21. Definitely more than I usually spend on lunch. When I opened the tray, initially I thought the tacos looked so small, and instantaneously felt doubt. However, after one bite, I was blown away. This was the best Mexican food I've ever had. It was so good, I wanted to call and tell them how good it was, but I figured this route is better. Yes, you'll probably spend more money than you want to spend, but it's highly likely that you'll feel it was worth it in the end. I'm not sure if I would have gotten full without the ala carte enchilada, but because I demolished the entire meal, and feel full (not in a slouchy way, but in a satisfied way), plus have the feeling that I ate a real, "home-cooked" meal, I'd have to say it was worth it. I will...
It's not often that I take time out of my day to write a review. But something needs to be said. š«DON'T FEED THIS FOOD TO CHILDRENš« 5/6 of my burritos had chicken bones in it. (See photo) $15 bucks and I had to SPIT OUT and WASTE 83% of my burritos. (See photo) The bones being the biggest problem, but not to disregard the tortilla was raw dough on the underside, like raw dough. It was disgusting.
Ive lived in livonia for 29 years and I dont think anyone that lives here has went any further East of Las Palapas.. which must be the reason I'm seeing the words: "authentic mexican" and "best".. I can effortlessly name 25 other spots to go before ever recommending this place. Livonia people don't know mexican food and it's obvious by reading 3 reviews on this page The staff was cool when I ordered which is unfortunate, because the food doesn't have any flavor, the carne asada sucked, the chicken was vile, and I dont see any reason to even waste my time trying the only other option "chorizo". Ill drive 20 minutes to southwest detroit to eat real food with out dangerous bones in it.
The 1 star I'm giving this place is solely for their salsa. I was suprised that was actually good. For the 35 dollars i spent here, i wouldve rather lost the money in the parking lot getting out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in to give it a try and wasnāt helped for like 3-5 minutes. Like there was no one even in the place to help me, it was empty, I was even checking to make sure I didnāt walk into a closed restaurant by accident. But eventually someone came out from the back and I ordered two hard shell tacos a la carte. I had read the reviews that they get soggy so I ate one in the parking lot, lol and it was nice and crispy and one when I got home, it was a bit mushy. They had a very nice flavor, wish there were more tomatoes, Iāll probably ask for extra next time. They were pricey as others have said, costing me almost $10.00 for two tacos (smaller than T-Bell). Not a place you can frequent, but worth a try. The place was being used as storage and the inside didnāt come off the most clean because of it. Also, no inside dining,...
