This is my favorite tavern/dive bar that doubles as a great place for large parties.
Drink menu is very diverse plenty of brews local and national distributed, along with some IPA's and great cocktails menu along with local drink specials.
The food is off the chart. I've had almost everything on the menu and I love it all! Burgers, wraps, platters, AND THE PIZZA!!
Burgers and wraps are stacked and stuffed with fresh made fries or whatever side you want. The fish and chips also a favorite BUT my personal pick is the pizza. They have pizza specials on Monday and it pairs perfectly with Monday night football.
The appetizers and soups are great as well. Pretzel sticks or brussel sprouts are my personal favorites but like I said, haven't had one I didn't like.
The service is always on point with a welcoming and upbeat staff. The atmosphere is always upbeat and clean no mess on the floor and not a wet messy bar.
Came here last mother's day for brunch and was just as impressed. Fresh well prepared food and drinks at fair prices. Looking forward to a return.
This is our family favorite for lunch or dinner just the 2 of us or with friends and family including children.
UPDATE* June 2025 Came again and just want to reiterate everything above. Food and service top notch! I've now become a huge fan of the onion rings and zesty sauce. They use a whiskey batter which has this awesome sweet hint to it along with the zesty sauce (that's what the server called it).
Service from EMILY tonight was just great never saw the bottom of our drink glasses and orders were perfect. Thanks for another great...
Read moreLet me start by saying I don't mind paying for quality service and I tip well, at least 20 percent even for mediocre service. The food here is quite good, but my advice is don't go here if you like a good pour for your drink. A couple of bartenders are better than others, but last time there it was the weakest drink I have had anywhere in the nearby Livonia area including Stables, Time Out, Bench Pub and, in Plymouth, Hermann's and The Post. My partner and I frequent our area restaurants/bars, and Black Label is the closest of all, but we've scaled back on going there. Servers in most other places greet us by name when we come in and seem glad to see us. After two years as regulars I doubt that most of the Black Label bartenders even know our names, though we have met some nice customers that we talk with. Black Label's food is quite good, if a bit pricey, but I can get a better bar burger at a better price elsewhere at some of the aforementioned places. Don't bother playing the jukebox. It's turned down so low you can't hear it. I once saw a patron put money in it, select songs and ask if the bartender could turn it up so he could hear it. He was refused, but he was not offered his money back. Black Label does have plenty of big-screen TVs for sporting events, and that's a nice touch. We probably won't be going there as much as we had been. There are plenty of places competing for our business, and at the moment Black Label is unfortunately falling short of...
Read moreI give Black Label Tavern in Livonia, Michigan, a full five stars! From the ambiance to the service and, of course, the food—everything was spot on. Our server, Jennifer, was amazingly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and offering helpful recommendations.
I highly recommend starting with the Firecracker Shrimp, served with rice paper wraps and topped with a delicious volcano chili sauce—it’s a standout! For the main course, the Tommy Hawk Pork Chop was fantastic. It’s a 12-ounce, all-natural bone-in pork chop served with roasted marble potatoes and asparagus, and it’s gluten-free. The flavors were absolutely on point, especially when paired with their Midnight Margarita. This drink was delicious, with just the right blend of flavors to complement the pork chop perfectly.
I also tried the Bourbon Chicken, which comes with pearl onions, wild mushrooms, a rich bourbon cream, and garlic mashed potatoes. It was very good, hearty, and flavorful. For dessert, we shared the Fried Cheesecake, which my loved one absolutely enjoyed—he said it reminded him of the local state fair. I wasn’t a fan, but only because I’m not big on dessert. Still, if he liked it, I’m sure it was as amazing as the rest of the food!
I also had the chance to look around at other diners’ plates, and while I didn’t get to taste them, everything looked beautifully presented and tempting. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by—Black Label Tavern...
