The decoration makes this old building looks fresh and vibrant. The wood floors looks original, combined with fresh white paint on the walls and high ceilings . The wall behind decoration are a mix of traditional Texas artifacts and modern art, the combination looks great! My favorite part in the place is the long wood bar. Behind it, Ruben, the bar tender. He is super efficient and friendly. He takes care of everybody. Many of the customers are locals and he knows everybody. But even if you are not local he makes you feel welcome!. We are planning come back some Friday when there is live music night. Local artist come and perform. I heard this event it is worth it!

When my daughter went to order a second drink she changed her order halfway through and Reuben made it for her adding 4 cherries(!) which made her really happy. Then later on the owner came over and said hello and told us a little bit about the place. I would really recommend this place, me and my family really enjoyed it.

So Baby & I, yesterday, Sat, decided to go to Lockhart for cocktails & dinner after shopping at the Outlet Malls in San Marcos. We've been to Lockhart before, going to The Pearl Bar (cocktails) & the Little Trouble Restaurant (dinner) right next door

We looked forward to seeing the preeminate bartender, Ruben Brooks, there. Ruben is a tremendous asset for both the Pearl Bar & the City of Lockhart!

We enjoyed tremendously watching him make our delicious cocktails, listening to the many stories he told about the historic Pearl Bar & the City of Lockhart. He's just an absolute gentleman and a master of his craft!

Baby & I look forward to many returns to the Pearl and being entertained & enthralled with Reuben's command of the Bartendering Craft!

Ladies & Gentlemen, it's well worth the drive from whereever you're at to make the acquaintance of Ruben Brooks, you rock my man!! See...

Reuben is great, he interacted with everyone who came and went. I understand why he received Best Bartender multiple times, as well as Best Cocktails and Best Bar. The clientele was an array of folks from different walks of life, and we enjoyed watching everyone having a good time. From multiple beer and craft beer choices to Moscow mules and Mexican (or Texas?) martinis, The PEARL has something for everyone. Note that Lockhart has a First Friday event every month throughout the square and beyond, and lots of places hold their special events those Fridays and stay open later for folks to come enjoy a good time, with some offering live music, drinks, and nibbles.
