Chaparral Coffee was a surprise in more ways than one! We came a little later than the typical lunch crowd and hungry. We were a little apprehensive trying something different but since our previous favorite lunch spot recently closed, we were anxious for a replacement. A relative told us about Chaparral so we decided to give it a try. Now for the good and the bad. The good was the Cuban sandwich, and I mean "good, really good"! Close to a Reuben but not quite. Very generous portions, we brought half home for dinner and I'm already thinking about my next visit! The staff was very outgoing and gracious about our patronage, the price right on target. Also good, although we didn't try it was the aroma of fresh coffee making its way down the hall. The pastries looked appetizing and worth a try next time. The bad? Well, not really bad but a worthwhile consideration is the seating. Only about 16 seats inside, several more outside. No biggie but groups may not fit. But again, I guess a lot of their business is take out and that's where their market is. We'll be back, probably more than a...
Read moreMy coffee was fantastic but I ordered an everything bagel and about 10 minutes later they told me they're out of everything bagels. I chose a cinnamon raisin bagel. A few minutes later they told me their cinnamon raisin bagels weren't good and the remaining choice was a plain bagel. So I said that was fine and chose peanut butter as the spread. Another 5 or so minutes later that was delivered and it was only after spreading the peanut butter on half the bagel that I realized it was a bit too smooth. Turns out it was Jif. You'd think a place advertising all these fresh and local products would have natural peanut butter.
So my breakfast was half a bagel with cream cheese.
Also, apparently they're dog friendly and the multiple customers who brought dogs in while we were sitting trying to eat really contributed negatively to our experience. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE dogs. But I don't want random dogs near me and my infant while I'm trying to eat.
TL;DR: Get...
Read moreI don’t usually leave bad reviews for places, but I was disappointed. I ordered the lil garden sammi with no egg. it does not say there is meat on it but there was ham on it. I am a vegetarian. thankfully my grandmother had ordered avocado toast, which was not very good. it was basically just mashed avocado with a little salt and pepper. the wait was 20 mins for these two items while there were very few other customers. the people working did not seem very happy with us being there. I personally work in customer service and felt more in the way than welcome. I just felt like it was overpriced for what it was, especially since the sandwhich was only really half a sandwhich. I really am not picky when it comes to these things and often will eat things even when I don’t like them, but this whole experience just felt like a waste of...
