The food was actually quite good. I had a horseshoe and my so. Got a donut burger, though they don’t really care about the kids meals, as their Mac’n cheese, which my youngest ordered, was basically all Mac and no cheese. But they fixed that quickly when asked. The best thing we had was the Bavarian Pretzel, which was soft and doughy, with just the right amount of salt. Moreover, the ambiance of the place is amazing. The waitstaff are dressed up in old west attire, the drinks come in tin cups, and you get served your food on a small sheet tray. It’s all very schticky, but it’s fun. The only reason they lose is a star is because of the service, which was a little lacking. The hostess, upon our arrival, was quite rude. There was no pleasant greeting, just a slightly annoyed “Can I help you?” Then, when she sat us at our table she just tossed the menus on the table and walked away, through us, forcing my party to split. I was very taken aback at her lack of common courtesy. Our waitress was better, but she was so busy with at least 5 other tables that we barely saw her. Our drinks didn’t get refilled and it took quite awhile for her to come to our table in the first place. It was busy, but part of dining out is the service, and I expected a little more. Overall, you won’t be disappointed and I’ll definitely try again and hope the poor service...
Read moreI never leave reviews, but the service was absolutely terrible. My friend and I walked in and sat at the bar, where there were a few other people. They were not even busy! They spent more time talking amongst themselves than they did serving their paying customers! We didn't even get a "hello" from the bartenders. I had to flag one down just for a drink menu. I asked the bartender for a drink menu, and he never came back to take my order. The menu he gave me was missing half of the pages anyway. Then when I finally was able to get his attention, he acted like I was an inconveniencing him. The girl (long black hair, tattoos, and fake lashes) who was bartending couldn't stop talking to her friends and acted like serving anyone else was an inconvenience to her. One of the servers came up to get a bar order and the she (the bartender) had poured the wrong type of wine. She rolled her eyes and dumped a FULL glass of wine in the sink because of her own mistake. She even acted put out when I asked for my bill. I told her I paid my tab on the app and she said "k." No "thank you" or anything. I said "bye thank you!" And she rolled her eyes. Very rude and unprofessional bartenders at this bar!! Overall, the bartenders had terrible attitudes!!! The servers and cooks did a fantastic job though and provided great service! They...
Read moreWe decided to go to this restaurant after finding out they served Horseshoe sandwiches, which we have not had since our stay in Springfield last year.
We arrived at the location to find most of the entrance had been blocked by construction. This was remedied by a sign showing where to enter. Upon entering, we were struck by the adherence to the "Stagecoach" motif: there was a small Stagecoach set next to the entry, employees decked out in "Wild West" saloon get-up.
We were greeted by our server, and after a few moments, decided on our Horseshoe: a thick cut of Texas Toast, topped with my choice of meat (pulled pork) crispy fries, smothered with a house-crafted cheese sauce. We also opted for a side of beer battered onion rings. Both items arrived in less than ten minutes and were full of flavor. For the price, I think the portion size could have been larger (when compared with the genuine article in Springfield), also $2.50 for soda is a bit much, though it is served in a metal cup which is quite refreshing.
Stagecoach is a nice addition to the downtown Lockport eateries, with character and some good eats. Ultimately, it will be quality, portion size, and service that will determine the success of Stagecoach, not decor. Currently, I think they have nothing to...
