Yes 1Star and that is because The Brick House has always been a go to place for us, until now. I was telling (bragging) to the people that I had brought with us as to the generous portions and the great bread they serve, the bread was worth the visit alone. We haven't been there for about 3 month. Things went down hill the minute we got our menus , it's now all A La Cart. !!! We contemplated leaving but it was getting late so we stayed, Chicken Marsala for example was $25 no sides if you want potatoes $8 if you want a veggie $8, Bread ? Another $8 I have chicken Marsala quite often and have never paid over $32 and usually it's in the 24-28 dollar range. WITH SIDES ! This isn't Ruth's Chris Steakhouse ! It is NOT that type of restaurant, Period ! its a casual lay back atmosphere. GENO ! You have destroyed what the Brick House (Lodi and Elk Grove) was all about !!! Sorry GENO, we will NEVER BE BACK until it returns to its roots !! By the way, our waitress was top notch first class and we felt she was a little embarrassed as to the A La Cart issue when we questioned her about it. But again she was really good. The food ? It was OK, as I had the Lasagna which is usually served A La Cart anyway. But really now No Bread ??? Get it together GENO !!!...

We selected Brick House to cater our wedding on 5/1/21, and I am still getting compliments on the food! The chicken piccata is the best I've ever had, their tri-tip was cooked perfectly and paired with a chimichurri sauce, and they easily accommodated our vegetarian guests with leaving the antipasti for the salad to the side. Throughout the whole process, Geno was on the ball, very responsive to every single question, every change we made, and overall extremely pleasant to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend Brick House for catering your event! In addition, I recently went there to have dinner with my sister, we sat in the bar area. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, from the lighting to the music that was playing, and the attitude of the waitstaff. They were all very pleasant, Buffy was our sever and she was really sweet. We saw Geno consistently walking around and saying hi to guests, including us. We had a great bottle of Oak Farm Chardonnay paired with their clam linguine and a cup of minestrone. Did I mention they have garlic butter for the bread?! We...

SERVICE: Let me preface this review by stating that our waitress was very professional and service from her was truly a benchmark that all restaurants should seek to obtain.

FOOD: If you were looking for a quick casual meal and enjoying an atmosphere on high-top tables or looking for a more intimate evening to dress up for formal dining, this was the place to be.

Known for generous portions and full-flavor plates has made a change for the worse. The owner has moved away from these roots and now only offers sides at your expense.

He has said that the à la carte prices of entrees have reflected the change.. I’m sorry, but spare me, please. The portion size and flavor is what put this place on the map in the first place. Decreasing the fully loaded meal by $5 and charging anywhere from $8-$12 per side is ludicrous.

This isn’t a white tablecloth establishment to reflect à la carte service. Mirroring the direction of the Elk Grove location with this change is the worst decision that Geno has made and it will ruin this place for many customers until the...

Great place in Central Lodi. They have a bespoke menu with selection of pasta, soups, steaks. They even have sweet breads. I had the 8oz filet mignon priced at 38. It was well worth it. Bacon wrapped and served with a creamy peppercorn. Decent selection of wines, not so much for beers. They do have a full bar and a couple of drinks suggestions on the menu. Their whiskey selection is large. Outdoor dining is ample and decently covid safe. The only problem is that there are a bunch of Lodi locals making the experience less pleasant. Outdoor dining is across the sidewalk from the building and next to the streets. Locals were riding bikes and skateboards on the sidewalk, blasting music, and there is a constant churn of traffic from the road. As pleasant as the outdoor dining is, this is distracting. I'd say some of the tables outside are too close together. Back to back seating leaves only a couple of feet in some locations. Other than that the place is good. Staff are diligent about wearing masks.

Came here for the first time with the hubs and two friends for dinner and loved it. We had the calamari appetizer to share and these were not your typical rounds and tentacles. These were small calamari steaks and wow were they good. The calamari was tender and not chewy and delicious. For dinner, we had the chicken scallopini, piccatta, and marsala between the 4 of us. The scallopini and marsalas were perfect out of the kitchen. The piccatta was a bit overly salty, we thought from too many capers. Mentioned it to our server Amanda, who was fabulous, when she came to check on us. We declined a remake of the dish since we were already close to full since we also had soup and salad. Imagine our surprise when Linda the manager came out with a fresh piccatta with no capers and it was perfect. 5 stars for the delicious food and 5 for the awesome service. Definitely plan on coming back in the near future.

11/17/2023: It has been a while since I've been here. Came tonight to celebrate my aunt's birthday. The restaurant has great atmosphere as it is vibrant and full of energy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu is extensive with lots of options. I had the mushroom and pancetta risotto. The dish had good flavor, but it didn't have a smooth, loose texture. It was a big mound of sticky rice with whole button mushrooms and clumps of thin-sliced pancetta, with a lot of parmesan shreds sprinkled on top. I did start with the clam chowder, which was fantastic, and a good-sized Caesar salad, which was tasty. Our server was attentive, keeping our waters filled and providing us with whatever we needed. The food wasn't the greatest, but I'd give them another chance as prices are reasonable and there's so many other dishes to try.
