Brix and Hops is a real gem for the craft beer lover when visiting Lodi, CA. Conveniently located along a stretch of School Street in downtown Lodi among a number of bars and restaurants, this minimalist space offers 24 taps of rotating craft beer delights. The wine connoisseur is not forgotten as they have a stellar selection from which to choose. I focused on local area craft beer and was impressed with the gentleman proprietor's knowledge and methods. He's Jeff and he knows his product. He's not afraid to age a barrel in his cooler for months to allow the beer to improve. A successful example of his methodology was apparent with the Sneaky Pete Bourbon Barrel Aged Scottish Ale from 12 Rounds. I checked online ratings and comments and found the brew was considered slightly above average. I found it to be one of the tastiest craft beers I have ever enjoyed. Brix and Hops held on to it for close to 9 months before serving it. The aging has done it extremely well comparing my superior experience with that Scottish Ale to those online for that brew. The proprietor told me when it first arrived it was too "hot" and too smoky (by hot he means too alcohol up front). My taste buds informed me it was a near perfect Ale now! Great casual, friendly atmosphere with a heavy dose of class. Brix and Hops oozes quality. Outstanding craft beers. Enviable wine selection. No food, but no problem. A must visit place for fans of flavorful adult beverages in Lodi.

For someone who's not a beer fan, Meghan suggested the perfect option. I had their Crow & Wolf Dark Horse seltzer, and it was so good and refreshing. She was super friendly and provided great customer service. Definitely recommend checking them out and listening to suggestions from the servers.

Great selection of craft beers & Lodi wine. Varied types of beers, from lagers, ipa’s, stouts & sours. Great friendly staff & Mgr Stephanie knows her stuff. Also bottles & cans to go.

There are 25-30 taps here, and almost always, a dog. No, not the bartender, actual dogs! Usually they'll greet you when you walk in, but if not, they're snoozing behind the bar. Again, the dog, not the bartenders (I joke, I joke).

The bartenders here are great, generally knowledgeable, and good for conversation. Again, 25+ taps. This means lots of rotating beers but also a wide variety of styles so there should be something for everyone. They also have wine. No food, but there's a lot of other places around to eat at. They also have a front and back patio, which is great when the weather cooperates.

The draft list leans IPA heavy, but they have ciders, sours, and a slew of darker beers usually. They do have flights as well. Tuesdays they (usually) run specials on beers sometimes posted on Social Media (Instagram, usually).

This place has events, though. Trivia on Wednesdays, and stand-up comedy some Tuesdays or Thursdays. All in all, an excellent place for a beer or two, ample space for a few friends and a board game or two....

I can't believe I haven't done a review here yet! Brix and Hops is our favorite bar in the Stockton/Lodi area. We go at least every other week for trivia, and often in between. Amazing servers/service, great atmosphere, and I marked "food" 5 stars for the drink variety. They do not serve food, but encourage you to bring your own. If I could give Brix 10/5 stars, I would. ...
