Went in with a party of 4 after we spent all day moving furniture. Decided to try this place a try after searching some sushi places within the area. When we went in we were greeted by a nice lady (who gave off a friendly motherly vibe) and seated us at the table. We decided to order a fancy sushi party platter (20 assorted nigiri sushi and 4 special rolls) for $99.

While we were waiting, the lady gave us 4 piece gyozas and miso soup on the house. The gyoza had some noodles in it and it was hot and tasty. The miso soup was your standard miso soup but I wish it had some tofu pieces like some places do it.

Once we got our platter, it came in a very decorative boat with all the sushi nicely decorated. The nigiri was your standard ones like salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, etc. Some had some lemon slices next to them which helped enriched the flavor a bit, but after eating a few I kind of wished they had them on the side for me to drizzle on certain pieces instead.

As for the special rolls, definitely were the stars of the show. The only one I like the least was one called tango de mango mainly because jalapenos are not my favorite but it was still good.

After the meal the lady came back with the check and also gave each of us a lollipop and small bottle of some yakult probiotic drink for us which I thought was really nice and sweet of her

Overall the service and food was pretty exceptional, and if I am ever in the area again I wouldn't mind stopping...

Ordered via UberEats on a Friday afternoon. We ordered the kani salad, the 2 special roll combo and the 3 roll regular combo.

The kani salad could have used more cucumber. I like having that crunch in there, so it’s not like I’m just eating imitation crab with spicy Mayo. It comes topped with tempura flakes, roe, and some avocado, which was a nice touch.

For the special rolls, the combo has a specific list you can select from. We had the Essex Roll (in: spicy salmon, cucumber, tempura; top: yellowtail, avocado, scallion, spicy sauce), and the Spider Roll ($+2, in: fried whole soft shell crab, cucumber, avocado; top: caviar, teriyaki sauce). I didn’t care for the Essex Roll. There were some pieces of yellowtail that tasted a bit fishy, and there was way much sauce on top, but I guess that makes sense now. The spider roll was my favorite. They did this one right. The crab was perfectly crispy and there was actual meat in the soft shell crabs, as opposed to a lot of other sushi places where it’s mostly shell. For the regular rolls, we had salmon cucumber, tuna avocado, and a yellowtail roll. This yellowtail didn’t have the same fishiness from the special roll. Overall, there were your basic sushi rolls. They had a little too much rice.

I also thought that since the combos were listed under the lunch special selection, we would get a miso soup or salad, but it didn’t come with either. There are better sushi spots nearby, so I don’t see myself ordering...

WOW. Excellent service, excellent sushi, and excellent presentation. This place welcomed us kindly around early afternoon. They rushed to seat my husband and I, and they even offered us a bigger table to have plenty of room for the food. The waiter, he was very attentive and kind. They offered us a free miso soup, gyoza sample, and edamame. All of which were out of this world. We both had 2 special rolls and boba tea. Boba teas (brown sugar and taro) were homemade slushies and truly above average. The tapioca pearls were cooked to perfection! Then, THE SUSHI!!!! W.O.W. They were served on sushi wooden boats, with artfully crafted cucumber slices to garnish around, ginger and wasabi. He had the firecracker roll (I think this was the best one, melted in your mouth) and french kiss roll- my mouth is watering thinking about it still. I had the moon river roll and the deep sea roll - also incredible. We are big sushi people, and this easily won best sushi in the area for us. The environment alone deserves 5/5 stars, but the service and the food make it so I wish I could give even more stars. Do yourself a...

8/6/24 Wanted Sushi and had just saw this the other day when we went to the bagel shop next door. Cute little space with about 6-7 tables. We got 3 special rolls: Double Salmon - can never go wrong with salmon :) Sushi Cafe Roll - Eel, Crab, Avocado, Cucumber topped with Salmon and teriyaki sauce - on so good Amazing Scallop Roll - Shrimp Tempura, Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, topped with buttered garlic scallops - OMG must have! So good Bowl of miso soup was very salty and didn’t have much seaweed or tofu, will skip next time. Honey Ginger Tea was yummy, something i will get again especially if it’s cold outside. I had to wait for it to cool down since it was hot outside lol Service was wonderful, she checked on us through out our meal to make sure everything was ok.

So I’ve been driving by this sushi place on Essex Street for a while now and I’ve noticed there are two big A-frame signs. I’m glad I was finally able to stop in and enjoy and an amazing lunch.! Jay is a great host, and took care of our special request without any hesitation. The place was decorated like a authentic Japanese restaurant should be. Our food was absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to return for more! Their miso soup was some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. I wasn’t expecting my sushi to come out on a boat, but it made me smile. They scored extra points for presentation.
