My husband and I went this past weekend as we visited Hocking Hills. We always look for small town businesses as they tend to be a more memorable place to eat! I especially love diners. Honestly, from first take to as we paid to leave, I wasn't impressed. The decor is cluttered, quirky and overall creates a weird atmosphere we didn't feel comfortable in. Staff were not wearing masks. Michelle was only friendly to larger families. Food was OK at best. Priced higher than should have been. I ordered what they call "Heaven in a bowl" and it just wasn't. I asked for my gravy on the side and they denied me this request because I "wouldn't get the full effect" of the layers (biscuit, home fries, eggs, gravy and cheese). Even if I would've gotten regular biscuits and gravy I ask for my gravy on the side because I like to be the one to determine how much gravy I eat. The biscuit was alright, eggs were fine, but the home fries were awful. I've never had such a bad tasting potato ever. Maybe it wasn't their fault and just bad potatoes, but I left them alone and that's all that was in my bowl. No one asked about them. My husband got shredded potatoes that come frozen and those were good. Just not...
Read moreWe went to this diner yesterday. There is no social distancing among the customers. None of the employees had masks on. We asked to sit near the back of the restaurant to be away from other customers (one who was coughing terribly and not covering his mouth🤢) and Michelle became very defensive, she said she thought not social distancing was fine, she was going to run her restaurant her way and not like a war zone (not sure what that means) and we were free to leave if we didn’t like it. So we left and she missed out on a big check. We had 11 people in our party. When we called before we arrived to make sure she had enough seating, we were assured they did. I just didn’t realize we wouldn’t be socially distanced. She was so defensive about it too, I was shocked a business owner would act this way. We went to Bob Evans and they were following all the COVID guidelines. I would much rather give a local business my money not a chain restaurant but Bob Evans received our business. We have eaten at M&M before and really enjoyed it, we will never return to this restaurant again. Businesses should care about their customers safety as well as...
Read moreI was admittedly taken aback when I walked into this place. To say the decor is "Kitsch Americana" is vastly understating it. My first impression was "Somebody's Meemaw's garage sale just barfed all over the place." It was a little overwhelming at first, but it certainly had its charm. And a leg lamp.
Hey, who am I to judge? I was there because my granddaughter needed some motivation to eat, and they had Mickey Mouse pancakes.
The staff was immediately super friendly and attentive. Coffee? Delicious and free-flowing. I didn't have to ask for more, it never got below half a cup.
I had chocolate chip pancakes, to my regret. Not because the pancakes were bad. They were stellar! Crispy on the edges, flavorful, and as big as my face! But. My husband ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy, and I stole a bite. TRANSCENDENT! This was scratch cooking, and it showed. The pancakes were great, the biscuits and gravy were better, and I simply could not eat both without exploding.
(My granddaughter loved her Mickey Mouse pancake AND the decor!)
If you find yourself in Logan, stop here. It's far better than anything at Bob Evans,...
