Maya burrito co has loads of potential that I feel that has yet to be reached. I am no professional but I do know this place could be awesome. I came on a Saturday at 6 pm anticipating a flood of people but there was a small trickle of people coming in from time to time. My suggestions to the owner would definitely would be to work on guest experience . The dinning in is super well done and the vibe is awesome but the thing that is missing is the experience that the employees should be giving towards their guests. Greeting them with a warm welcome and fond farewells go I long way. Changing the language and training them to treat their guests like they would with their best friend . It might have just been the night that I went, but the crew I was faced with just really didn’t seem like they enjoyed what they were doing or serving their guests. Another suggestion would be improving the layout of the website and menu, making it more clear and concise. Adding your company vision and what your core values are when it comes to serving the public. I would also suggest a large physical menu somewhere inside the restaurant besides paper copies or we codes, it might make it easier on guests and keep them more interacted with the environment around them . Just a few suggestions and thoughts that you all don’t need to take seriously or as criticism 😊 you guys are...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience- what a beautiful place that is wasted on awful service and food. There were 3 other customers there, one couple in line behind us. The first person to take our order, the loaded fries, walked away to start them then just stood there on his phone and didn’t take the rest of our order. The other worker came over and asked us if we were taken care of and we said yes but not the rest of our order and then he said well what do you want and when we told him we wanted all of the specials, he asked about the taco salad like he was rushed and annoyed and just started making it- my friend felt like she couldn’t even say what she wanted or didn’t want on the salad. It tasted like water, no flavor. He said they were out of the birria tacos because he “came in in the morning and they were still frozen” what?! This was at 6pm- you couldn’t defrost the meat for the special? There were no other taco options. The only saving grace were the loaded fries and they were mediocre at best. Absolutely can’t even compare this place to chipotle, it’s more like a lunch cafeteria at a high school. Do not waste...
Read moreI have always had a positive experience and excellent food at Maya. I drive 30 minutes each way at least once a week to get there at various times on weekends. Maya has evolved much in a short time, so there are bound to be growing pains when adding new people and dishes (yum!). Maya also has an atmosphere that supports family and the local community. I’ve lived all over including the southwest and Maya is among the best casual restaurants I have been to. The food is authentic due to the family connection across the border, and the head cook spends time there learning to cook authentically. I have found him and senior staff to be conscientious and dedicated to good food and friendly service. Experiences other than that seem rare, but it happens when you are growing and assessing new staff. Maya is also within the price point I have found for casual dining with fresh veggies, fresh meat and fresh spices. Finally, you always take a chance when you come in near closing at any restaurant, and I always take that into consideration. Even still, I find Maya worth the drive, worth coming back to, and worth encouraging...
