‼️🚫🆘I WOULD AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! McDONALDS next door has better service & is a lot cleaner, plus cheaper. I hate to be so negative, but we are very upset with my family’s experience here today. We haven’t been here in a few months & now we are glad we haven’t, we won’t return! 3 out of 4 people were plain rude! We have never had such a bad experience with a restaurant before! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The lady taking our order went over our order with us 3 times and it was still wrong. The only lady that was nice was the lady who stepped in (manager?) took over the register to get our order right, she had to tell the rude cashier to take a deep breathe! All our sandwiches were wrong & they forgot one of our drinks. Only the fries were right. The cashier at the register said if anything is wrong just bring it back & we will fix it. Well we did, & had to show receipt & they were still rude, no apologies. The lady cook had to redo a sandwich & she mumbled something & threw a fit about it (no pickle and no cheese, means no pickle and no cheese!) I even had to tell the cashier when we were ordering our food that a double hamburger with no pickle & no cheese, she said well a hamburger has no cheese, & I said yes I know but if I don’t express no cheese on the double hamburger they still put cheese on it! Well they did it anyway. She said well I’ll make sure I tell them no cheese. Come back with everything on it plus cheese! The guy cook threw a fit because they had to give extra pickles and onions in a small french fry bag, that he threw it on the counter. 2 of our sandwiches didn’t have any onions or pickles & we order extra on 2 sandwiches. The guy cook gave me 3 pickles and a pinch of onions for 2 sandwiches! When I asked for a little more that is when he gave me a dirty look and threw the bag on the counter to get another bag of pickles & onions. We were polite and said thank you & no reply from any of them...guess they were having a bad day?? It took so long to get our order right that our food was COLD!When we told them that we are going to call the owner (Bob Shanks) the cashier said ENJOY! So my husband called Bob & Bob agreed that some of them are rude & that he would have a talk with them. Bob didn’t apologize, Bob didn’t offer to make it right with us either. My husband told Bob we won’t be back & Bob just couldn’t believe we wouldn’t come back, would you?! The employees are always so kind and polite with smiles when Bob is in there...not today! The dinning area was dirty (tables & floor.) we weren’t the only ones complaining, an older lady we sat by said that she’s been coming here for years like us and it’s going downhill & she couldn’t believe how dirty the place was. If I could give the place 0 stars I would, it doesn’t deserve...
Read moreI wanted to love Happy Burger. The interior of the restaurant is super quaint, and the menu matches the old-school feel. A double cheeseburger with tartar sauce and a full ice cream counter? Count me in. Supporting local businesses is important, so I'll return when I'm back in the area, but the cleanliness left much to be desired.
The restaurant was dead; we were the only people in the entire restaurant. No one ever budged from behind the counter. The staff was very, very young and there was not a manager in sight. The general state of the restaurant, especially during Covid times, left me feeling uneasy. If the "front of house" was this untidy and unkempt, what did the kitchen look like?
Happy Burger is a Logansport staple, and a friend from the area informed us their other location closed after decades of serving the community. Hopefully, this location doesn't follow suit. The food and atmosphere are up to par, they just need to be more vigilant in keeping the restaurant clean. Hopefully, we caught them on...
Read moreI feel terrible for writing this, but it is undeniable that the new proprietor can not maintain the level of quality in service and product of the original owners. This last visit was a bit heartbreaking, even though I am only an occasional visitor to town, and only visited Hap's for the first time circa 2017, but this was pretty sad. Myself and another guest were the only customers in the building on Friday night at dinner time, when in the past I had witnessed many happy families laughing and enjoying their time in the dining rooms. The food was passable I suppose, and I give full benefit of the doubt to the new owners in trying to reach such a tremendous bar set by the originals... but it's clear this may not be the right fit. The drive thru lines were wrapped around numerous other restaurants as we drove away, and the multitude of food options along that stretch may be too much for this hollowed out shell of a classic to endure in its current form. Godspeed, Hap's. Hoping for a brighter future... with a...
