Update: August 20, 2024. I ordered food on this date, and it was not good. The rice is now yellow, instead of brown and has no flavor. The sweet and sour pork wasn't as good, and even the wonton soup is no longer flavorful. Why did you change the cook or the recipes because now, the food has gone downhill, and I will not eat here again. Read my previous review to see how much it's changed. I dropped it two stars from five stars down to three because of this. Previous review... I can't believe I'm giving five stars to this restaurant, but based on the food alone, they deserve it. I haven't eaten here in years, other than recently when I bought some wonton soup when I wasn't feeling well. The soup was fantastic, perfectly hot, but my only qualms were with the small amount of pork in the wontons. The pork though is delicious. Even their noodles that come with the soup are crispy and not stale, and two bags are included, but I always get extra, and it was $1 for two additional bags.
Today, October 30th, after I didn't eat all day, I wanted some wonton soup. I would only get their soup because they season it perfectly, but I've tried a couple other Chinese restaurant wonton soups around town, and they aren't seasoned well, or it's too much dough in their wontons. Also, I decided to order a meal because you get a small wonton soup with it if you choose that as a side, instead of an egg roll. I was happy about that, so I ordered the sweet and sour pork with fried rice, omitting the onions.
I don't do Chinese food much anymore because the last place that had the best Chinese food was all the way in Jamaica, (Sakura), and compared to the food there, most places here don't stack up. Even the buffet one city over used to be a favorite of mine, but they raised their prices and changed certain foods, including those with shrimp, making the shrimp microscopic, so I won't be going back.
Anyway, I wasn't sure about trying Lin's Garden's food. I went ahead and got the food, and I couldn't believe how perfectly flavored the sweet and sour pork was, as well as the rice, even though I only eat jasmine rice at home. Their rice is the color that fried rice should be, not yellow or white, and it was perfectly seasoned. They put the sweet and sour sauce on the side, which is good because it allows the sweet and sour pork balls to stay crispy. Everything was so good.
I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but I loved everything, and it was a great value at just over $10. If I go to other restaurants, wonton soup is not included, so I buy it additional, costing me upwards of five or six more dollars on top of the combination meal. I also think it's cool that they give you reusable plastic containers that you can actually bring home, wash, and use it again for your own personal meals. š
They are also realistic in their timing by telling you 10 to 20 minutes or 15 to 20 minutes, whereas every other store says 10 minutes. This matters a lot because I hate when a store tells me 10 minutes, and I get there 40 minutes later, and there is still a 10 or 20 minute wait. I got there a few minutes early when I was told up to 20 minutes, and my food was already ready. I'm also happy that they gave me a fortune cookie because the buffet never does unless I ask for it. Even Panda Express forgets my fortune cookie, which is the happy ending after a Chinese meal. š
I can't say I'll be eating here weekly, but their food is delicious. Keep up the good work, and I recommend this place to anyone looking for good Chinese food, whether it's soup, combination plates, or any other amazing food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have avoided writing a review for a number of years because they are consistently inconsistent. One time they are great and another time they are horrible, the food is stale and greasy. I stopped ordering from them for a number of years because of this. I decided to give them another try because I was at Publix and wanted a quick lunch. It was good, but not as spicy as I requested. I thought ok, maybe I did not communicate clearly and I took responsibility. I decided I didn't want to cook for Easter this year and I went in ahead of time and spoke with them, expressed my concerns and my expectations. I spent about $300.00 and it was great. Everything was perfect. Nothing was stale, nothing was dripping grease, my Red Thai Curry Chicken was the 5 star spicy as I requested along with the extra sauce I ordered. I was beyond happy and satisfied.
I placed an order last night, it was about $125.00. To say I am disappointed is the least of it. The General Tso chicken was stale. The Spring Rolls were soaked, saturated, literally dripping in oil. The Red Thai Curry Chicken wasn't spicy like they did on Easter. And worse than that, I ordered and paid for an extra side of Red Thai Curry Sauce, and that's NOT what they gave me. They gave me Curry sauce, but not Red Thai Curry Sauce. What ? What ?!? WHAT !?!?!? Will I be dropping my hard earned cash there again? NOPE. SUKI SUSHI a few blocks down never disappoints. My kids like Lins better because they get teriyaki Chicken on a stick, but SUKI SUSHI has been consistent for the last decade and since I am paying, that's where I am buying.
Added a picture of the Red Thai Curry which is entirely different in color and consistency, than the Curry sauce in the container that basically tastes like they dropped a container of cinnamon in it. Seriously, I am going to fry some apples and use...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter having ordered from here for 9 years I was asked to pay additional to add egg to my fried rice. Because this was new to me, I asked to speak to the owner and was told by Ivan (twice) that the owner doesnāt speak English. I hear the two men speak in their native tongue and Ivan gets back on the phone to tell me that there are new owners and they charge for changes to menu items. This order was placed on delivery.com and after asking Ivan to cancel my order, that had not been made thus far, I was told to contact delivery.com for the cancellation. As I type this Iāve been on the phone with delivery.com for 15 minutes and have yet to get my money back even though the rep verified the order was not prepared or delivered to me. The delivery.com rep is telling me it will take 1-5 days for a refund although it took 1-5 MINUTES for them to take the money from my account. Iāve now been on hold for a manager for over 10 minutes and have yet to receive a refund. DO NOT ORDER from Lins Garden and DO NOT USE delivery.com. They are a scam. Also, it would have been nice to know that my fave Chinese restaurant was now owned by someone else who has no care or concern for regular and faithful customers. They didnāt even care enough to announce the location was under new management or had new pricing policies. I rated a 1 star because the system wouldnāt...
