We visited a last Friday night. We arrived at about 8 pm and the place was pretty busy but we only had to wait about 10 minutes with a party of 4. Right from the get go, the service was slow. Our waitress was nice but just didn't seem to be in any real hurry. She took our drink order and when she returned, she had forgotten one of the beer orders. But instead of running back to the bar, she went over to another table where she was obviously friends with the couple seated there. She chatted with them for at least 5 minutes before returning to the bar and did not return with missing drink for another 5 minutes or so. That along would rate terrible service but that was not all. We had ordered an appetizer and a pizza to share. We waited about 30 minutes and when the pizza was delivered she told us that the appetizer was not available because the had ran out of something. So we got no appetizer at all and only had the pizza, which was very good. And then it took forever to get the bill and she took way too long to return so we went to the bar and paid the bill there. She received ZERO tip. I can't remember the last time I left no tip at all. We did not leave until about 10 pm and we were not just hanging out, the service was just plain terrible. We had an amazing experience at Solvang Brewing Co and Glaze’s Smoke House in Lompoc! We ordered the #7 Combo Two Meat Plate with smoked tri-tip and baby back ribs, and it did not disappoint. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and full of flavor. For sides, we went with the #2 Mac n Cheese and #4 Loaded Half Baked Potato, which were both deliciously creamy and seasoned just right. Since we were splitting the plate, we added an extra side of #6 Kale Crunch Salad and #3 Southern Greens and Pork Belly—each one was incredible in its own way, packed with flavor and expertly prepared.

The traditional smoked BBQ sauce was a standout; it’s easily one of the best sauces I’ve ever tasted. We were thrilled to hear they’ll be bottling it soon—can’t wait to bring some home! To complement our meal, we had the Sunny Fields Organic Craft beer in mimosa flavor and the classic Solvang Lager on tap. Both were refreshing and paired perfectly with the smoky richness of the food.

This place is truly a hidden gem. It’s clear they’ve been through the challenges of the pandemic, but more people need to discover what they’re offering here. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time. They were busy but we were lucky and did not wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. The food, however, took almost an hour to be served. I had the BBQ Chicken dinner. The meal was very expensive for what we got. It was average-tasting. The servers were good and polite but the bartender was something else. I ordered a glass of wine along with my dinner. What I got was not a glass of wine but a sip...a taster...the glass was less than a quarter full! There was so little wine that the server thought that he had picked up a glass from one of the customers drinking at the bar. He turned around before putting it on our table and asked the bartender if that was the wine I had ordered. The bartender said yes, that he could pour only 6 oz of wine, and that was it! It was obvious the glass did not contained 6 oz. At home, as a test, I weighed a small wine glass with 6 oz of water, and it almost filled the glass. What a rip-off! I felt almost insulted at the restaurant, as if I was trying to get something for free. It was not. It cost $8 for the wine taster. I will never go back to this restaurant again.
