First timer, on a Saturday around 8am. Parking lot was busy as people were actively entering and exiting. I didn’t think we’d get a seat right away, but it’s much larger than it appears on the outside. Plenty of seats, and we were sat by the host within a minute. We were greeted by our server within a couple of minutes after being sat. We ordered coffee to start while we reviewed the menu. Sadly, the coffee was not good at all, but I rarely have an excellent cup of coffee at a breakfast place (far too many opt for cheaper blends). I was optimistic about the food and ordered my “go-to” (and favorite) - eggs benny (this was a twist on the classic) and my husband got a larger breakfast which included eggs, meats and pancakes. Food was cooked pretty fast - props to the kitchen! First observation was that there was no ketchup or syrup on the table. Luckily the server asked us pretty quickly after serving us, but it was still perplexing that there wasn’t a single condiment (ketchup at the least), on the table. OK 🤷🏻♀️ As a “breakfast person”, I was disappointed that they served Mrs. Buttersworth syrup (no option to add on/pay extra for REAL maple syrup? There are soo many good NH made ones!!) My benny was decent. It could have used a touch more seasoning - or “something” to make it stand out a bit more. Husband said his food was decent as well. The pancakes tasted generic though.. you know, like the standard restaurant box mix. Nothing extraordinary or different about them. Overall, it was a fine experience overall and a decent place to get sat and served quickly. Nothing specific stands out to be signature or specific - but my strong recommendation is to work...
Read moreMy experience is based on probably one of the top busiest days of the year for breakfast. The wait was 30 minutes plus and the member in our group waiting for notification on his phone still hadn't received notification after 45 minutes and he went in to check. They told him he was still 3rd on the list but would try to find him a table. They did and we were seated within 5 minutes. Once seated our assigned server was on her mark within 5. We ordered. Food was delivered not long after the order was placed. Service was excellent and she deserved an extra gratuity. Food was good. The a/c was on so the food cooled quickly. I had the traditional benny that was not quite traditional. Instead of Canadian style bacon deli sliced ham was served in its place. It's difficult to find good eggs Benedict in the Northeast. So I rate it a four. It's unnerving sitting on the veranda entrance side next to the window on a busy day with some folks watching patrons dine. Low style cafe curtains would add to privacy. So given the day (Father's Day) of the year and how busy it was I'll give them a four. One of the others in our party loved his meal especially the home fries and said he'd go back in a heartbeat. The third person asked for a box...
Read moreHorrible customer service! After I came all the way home I saw that they forgot the bacon on my BLT, so I called and the lady who answered the phone was so rude. I never raised my voice or was rude to her. She never once apologized at all she just had an attitude wit me like I did something wrong. She asked “what do you want? Do u want to talk to a manager or make u a side of bacon?” I said I just wanted the bacon, she said “what? You said you just want the bacon PLEASE!?” I said “yes” and she just hung up. So I called back and asked for her name and she said “it’s Jainies” I said yes but what is your name? She repeated Janie’s cafe…… and I asked AGAIN and she said “Jainies cafe, your bacon will be ready when you come” so I asked her “your not going to tell me your name?” And she said “No” so I hung up. We are all set with this place after today. This is NOT the first time they forgot something in my order (or burned my food, it’s burned 80% of the time but I continued to order from them because it’s the closest) and I never felt the need to leave a bad review or even call them about it, but to treat me like that? If you hate your job, work somewhere else. This place...
