I've been ordering pizza from Prosciutti's for about a year. I was driving to Derry for Sal's pizza, but I now live in Londonderry and Prosciutti's is much more convenient and up until tonight I was very happy with the food and service.
Tonight, I ordered a pizza on-line. The pizza was ready right on time, no waiting. When the box was opened I noticed that the top of the large pizza was burnt and none of the toppings were evident. I plated a slice and moved to watch the news. All that I could tase, when I took the first bite, was salt. The toppings that I ordered were salty, bacon, anchovies and mushrooms. All of the toppings were under the cheese and not cooked. The pie was not edible.
My partner called Prosciutto's. She was told that the order specified "extra-extra" of everything. When she checked with me about the on-line order I told her that I did specify extra bacon and anchovies. Whoever she spoke to told her that the pie was made exactly the way the order came in and a manager wasn't available.
After being unable to eat the pizza, we called Prosciuto's again and this time a manager was available. He started the conversation by saying he's too busy to talk. When he heard the story he said that the pizza was made the way the order came in. When it was suggested that there could be something wrong wiith his web site he said that he has nothing to do with the site and that he wasn't willing to do anything to correct the problem.
From now on, when I want pizza, I'll...
Read moreCOLD MEATBALL SUB AND NO TAP WATER The other day I stopped in for lunch and ordered a large meatball sub and a water. After a few minutes my sandwich came out but with no water. I asked the server for a water " just a tap water" I was informed a minute or so later that they did not have tapwater. (I say "server" but this was really just counter service). Despite my disbelief, I conceded that that would be fine and began to eat my sandwich. I immediately found that I had been served a cold meatball sub. I thought about asking to have it heated but realized, If tapwater and a hot meatball sub was beyond their capacity on the first try, I really didn't want them to make a second attempt. I ate the sandwich and left. As a minor act of rebellion and irritation, I did leave my paper plate and napkins on the table. About the food: The food was average to below average, the bread was ok, the sauce was ok, the meatballs had that slight frozen meatball taste. I have eaten there before and that was my previous take on it too - just ok, nothing special. So, in light of this last experience, I won't be going back to this establishment. I'm not that picky or hard to please, but this lack of interest or attention to detail in the food that you serve the public says a lot. A meatball Sub is a simple meal, served hot, seems to be a...
Read moreFor a while I used to go for their lunch special which is good. However, recently I ordered an eggplant sandwich and the person gave me veal instead (I have been a vegetarian for 12yrs). After eating some I didn't think it was egg plant and asked a friend what she thought (I don't remember how meat exactly tastes...) and she tried it and said it tasted like dried chicken. So she subsequently grabbed the receipt out of the trash and saw it said 'veal'...how the person got veal from egg plant is a mystery. In any case, I wouldn't put 1 star for a mistake...I called and told them about it and the manager, who is dark haired and Italian and has zero customer service ability, went on the phone. He said that I needed to come and pick up the refund which I was unable to and is insensitive to say anyway. He didn't seem to understand where I was coming from (I haven't eaten meat in 12 years until today and it was VEAL of all things!) and treated it as if I just wasn't happy with the order. He seems to struggle with sensitivity issues and customers as I went there in person before and a customer was unhappy with the meal and once again he was unapologetic. I will never be going to this establishment again. Furthermore my friend was sick from her sandwich. If you do go, avoid their subs which...
