This is a nice, clean restaurant in downtown Long Beach. We eat here at least once a month, even if it's a pick up order. Most things on the menu are items you can get pretty much anywhere on the Gulf Coast, but there are some items that are unique. I wish the menu did have brief descriptions of the dishes like some other restaurants. I also wish the font on the menu was different, but that's just a personal preference.
This is a lovely place to meet with friends, family or work associates. You can sit outside if you like. I'm pretty picky about the cleanliness of places I eat and I'm very comfortable here. I can't recall one dish or appetizer that my family has ordered that we haven't been happy with at Bull's. The Smoked Tuna Dip is THE BEST on the MS Gulf Coast. They don't serve this with plain crackers or stale french bread. The serve it with Melba crackers/bread. It's the little extra effort like that which makes things so good at Bull's that you may not get elsewhere. I love the chicken salad. I know that sounds so simple, but it's delicious. The Chili and Gumbo are GREAT! Simple dishes that hit the spot when we have a cold weather day. These are even better when I'm sick and someone can pick up my order for me. My husband enjoys their steaks and has never complained once about the quality nor the preparation/cook time. That says A LOT if you know my husband. My teenagers are pretty picky eaters and they NEVER COMPLAIN about any food we order at Bull's.
Some may say it's a little pricey, but drive just down the beach in either direction and you'll find a REAL overpriced restaurant with much lower quality food. Its nice to have a nice, consistently clean restaurant with quality food (no matter what your taste or preferences) right here at home in Long Beach for lunches, dinners, or special occasions.
