Now here is the thing. I have always been a patron of Georges Greek. I love the food, and have always received good to great service depending on the night. I had an excellent waiter one evening and I mentioned if Georges' offered delivery service within the radius of Belmont Shore or specifically 90803. He said indeed they do. I also confirmed this by their website stating they deliver within Belmont Shore with 15 dollar order or more. I called 2 days before a dinner gathering I was planning to see if I needed to order (like) cater in advance.. The attendee I talked with mentioned that for orders under $30, just call that evening and they would deliver within an hour. (Sounded great to me)

The problem: Thus I planned a gathering at my home of 5 people expecting a lovely Greek meal. I go to order and can't get through.. Then I get an attendant that says she can't here me over the noise and just hangs up. Then I call back and finally after 10 minutes of redirections get through to place my order... I'm told that my home (which is in Belmont Shore, same area code and literally a straight line up 2nd to Coronado) is out of their range of delivery.. I mentioned that I talked two two people who insured me they delivery within Belmont Shore and my home is literally just 1 short block North of where they say they cut off (aka Redondo).. I mentioned that I had several people over expecting a meal.. and that the website does not mention any stipulations. The website states delivery within all of 90803 Belmont Shore. The lady I talked with was very rude.. and said sir this is "not my problem" we don't deliver to you. WOW.. I have no problem if they stated they don't deliver to my area.. on their website or something.. But after being a patron for years.. I felt really slapped in the back. Would it have really been such a chore to drive 1 more block? Since I was entertaining I couldn't pick up that night.. It screwed up my plans.. and I was force to order a pizzas from Z pizza that alas came through quickly on Sat night. NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS GEORGES.. I and my friends will be taking our business elsewhere) Future marketing.. Georges.. If you choose to not deliver to specific areas within the area code 90803... specify on your website.. and on your outgoing messages.. Also on busy nights have an office or an area to pick up the phone away from the street crowd and noise of main dining.. Having to try to call 4 or 5 times to get someone to talk with as well as all the rerouting errors was not cool. Since I often order delivery for parties etc.. I have never had any problems with other Belmont Shore restaurants.. Very...

Sat. April 23, 2016 My hubby and I took a drive to Long Beach for a nice little outing. After enjoying the cool breeze and taking photos at the beach, we both realized how famished we were.

We decided to take a stroll along the busy, trendy restaurant row of the Belmont Shore area. I was actually feeling like India cuisine then Thai hit my mind.

My husband and I decided we would get a nice walk in by checking out a few of the menus before making a final decision. Our first stop was Lebanese. The aromas were amazing and the menu appeared appetizing.

Within the next little block, we came upon a Greek spot. A friendly host greeted us. While reviewing the menu, another young woman walked up and began telling us about the great food that this restaurant puts out. Her name was Tammy.

Tammy told us about the Friday night special and how delicious it is, and how they always sell out before the end of the night. She explained how the meal is prepared and told us that we would be very pleased. My honey was ready to try it, but I wanted to check out at least one more place before we made a final decision.

Off we went to find that India place I thought we passed earlier. After walking half way down the block I paused and said to my husband, I think you are right, we need to turn around and try that Greek café.

Tammy had painted a picture that sparked a fire in us. She was happy that we had returned and smiled as she led us to our table. The ambiance was nice and romantic; it gave us a real feel of being in Greece.

We both ordered the Friday night Kleftico, Slow Roasted Lamb Special served with roasted Greek potatoes, Greek salad, and pita bread. This dish arrived at our table with the most amazing aroma; I could not wait to dig in. This entree was absolute Perfection! We salute the chef, for a job well done! It was difficult to pause and put my fork down, let alone have conversation with my husband. ;-))

Our server Kacy, was delightful in every way possible. Our food came out in a timely manner and the presentation was huge ;-)

Kacy got a group of her peers to come over to our table and sing happy birthday to my hubby and presented him with a delicious slice of Baklava. Do not pass this place up folks! If you love, lamb or even like lamb, look no further. What a Marvelous experience, I cannot wait to go back again! Thank you Tammy, Kacy, and Javier Happy Customers Chef Ann & Chez Gordy p.s. George, you picked a winner! Tammy is the perfect person for the front of your...

From the moment you step into George's, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern elegance. The ambiance is cozy yet refined, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The staff are not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, always ready to guide you through the menu with thoughtful recommendations that never miss the mark. And if you're lucky enough to visit when the owner, Nicki, is around, you're in for an extra-special treat — her passion for the restaurant and its guests is truly infectious!

Now, let’s talk about the food — simply outstanding. Every dish showcases the finest, freshest ingredients, prepared with a level of care that’s evident in every bite. If you’re a fan of lamb, you must try the lamb chops — even if you don’t typically eat lamb, these will change your mind. For vegetarians, the spanakopita is a showstopper: golden, crispy, and bursting with a flavorful spinach and feta filling that’s perfectly balanced.

And no meal at George's would be complete without dessert. The baklava is the ideal sweet finish — layers of flaky phyllo, rich honey, and crunchy nuts that offer the perfect combination of texture and sweetness.

Whether you're a lifelong lover of Greek cuisine or new to its delights, George’s is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that will have you counting the days until...

Love, love, love this place! It's been years since I've been since I've moved out of state, but in the past this was a frequent stop for me. It's been 5 years, and it's just as wonderful as I remember. We sat at the bar because of course it was busy on a Saturday night, and the bartender Sam was awesome. Even with the restaurant being as busy as it was, the attention we received was perfect. Sam was personable, funny and easy to have a conversation with. I'm actually glad there were no tables available, this ended up being the perfect evening not only full of great food, but easy conversation. I wish my trip wasn't as short or I would return for sure! The food here is always fresh, the dips are on point, the Kalamata duo and Scordalia are our two favorites! The Baklava is better here than anywhere I've had, crispy and not soggy! The Saganaki is also the best here vs anywhere else also! Really anything on the menu is fantastic, and ending the meal with a sweetened Greek coffee is absolutely the best! You won't be disappointed!!

Go for the food. Stay for the service. Go back because it’s family. From the moment you step in, you’re treated like family. The owner, Nikki, introduced herself and asked for our names. She used them when she spoke to us over the course of the evening. Mike, the manager, runs a team of hosts and servers who provide service second to none. And, they seem to enjoy being there as much as the guests. We started with the 3-dips plate. My favorite was the potato and garlic with warm pita. Next up, the flaming cheese. The flaming cheese is a reason to drive out of your way to get to this 2nd Street jewel. They flame it table-side, so it’s cheesy goodness and a show. We tried the falafel, the lamb, and the baklava. Add in a bottle of wine and our meal was…chef’s kiss! Nikki told us that it was very important to them to be loyal to their guests. We felt that warmth all evening.
