My wife drove past this place a while ago and described it to me and it sounded crazy. I LOVE Thai food and curry, and naturally I love pizza, but together? Still, the next time she had to go to Long Beach, I agreed to tack along on the 40-minute drive just to try this, even though it meant me spending 90 minutes in a coffee shop waiting for her before another such drive back. I give you this back story as perspective on what I endured to try this restaurant.
The simple result? I will absolutely, without question, repeat all of these steps again because this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I'm not talking best weird fusion pizzas. I'm talking best pizzas period. The overall flavor profile of the Thai Curry Chicken Pizza worked in a way I could never have expected. Ingredients were top notch, cheese was perfect, and the crust is some of the best I've ever had. None was wasted, with cheese baked onto the edge, and a flawless texture and bite.
My wife has their tempura fried shrimp, and while at first she was disappointed that it was clearly breaded and not tempura, this was quickly replaced by amazement at the flavor and texture. I tried it and it instantly ranked as highly as the pizza for its category.
I will return. You...
Read moreThe outside and inside look very run down, you go in and see a very intriguing fish tank which is really nice and interesting and kind of adds to the atmosphere and a very nostalgic timeless way. I called in my order ahead of time and the person was very nice, but it was so difficult to hear them over whatever was going on in the background. The packaging for the food was very nice and when I finally got to try the thai curry chicken pizza it was actually really good. The cheese reminded me of pizzas from sams club and the crust was actually a soft bread and didn't feel dry or hard which was nice. The pizza overall had a really good taste. I got the cheese wontons and I wasn't a very big fan of them. Its not like a rangoon where it's soft around the cream cheese area. Its just like a giant thin chip wrapped around cream cheese. My partner liked them. I would go here again. The parking is a bit small, but the area wasn't full when we got there so it wasn't a concern. Also they have different hours! The first time I went they were closed because they didn't publicly update their hours to say they now close at 9:30pm. They do have an area to dine in, we just prefer...
Read moreIf you’ve ever thought, Man, I love Thai food, but I also really want pizza, then congratulations, you’re my kind of person. And also, you need to get yourself to Thai Curry Pizza ASAP. Let’s start with the Tom Yum Pizza—because why settle for regular old marinara when you can have a sauce that slaps you in the face (in the best way possible) with tangy lime, lemongrass, and just enough spice. The combination of shrimp, mushrooms, and fresh herbs on top of a crispy, cheesy crust is pure chaotic genius. It shouldn’t work, but somehow, it absolutely does. Then there’s the Thai Chicken Curry Pizza, which is basically if yellow curry and a pepperoni pizza had a delicious little baby. The yellow curry sauce replaces tomato sauce (because who needs tradition?), and they load it up with juicy chicken, peppers, and just the right amount of spice. It’s like a trip to Bangkok—minus the jet lag and questionable street food choices. Thai Curry Pizza isn’t playing by the rules. It’s weird, it’s wonderful, and it’s the only place where it’s socially acceptable to dip your pizza in sweet chili sauce. 10/10...
