First and last time I’ll be coming here. When I first arrived I was excited to try. But after waiting for 45 minutes for our food, I was hoping the taste of the food would make up for the time we waited. Once we all got our food, we weren’t very impressed by the appearance. My mom ordered a chorizo platillo which wasn’t too bad, my dads tacos were alright but since he also ordered some cebollitas, the waitress forgot about it and didn’t give it to us until he was bites away from finishing his tacos. We kept trying to get her attention but was unsuccessful and focused on the other tables of guys except my family and the other family there. My food was the worst of all, I ordered a chimichanga de bistec and it was mostly just tortilla and barely any meat, didn’t even taste like bistec, more like bbq chicken. My sisters chicken and fries were super dry and almost burnt. Coming from a 100% Mexican, I can say this is the worst experience I’ve had with little to no flavor food. And once I brought it up to the attention of the waitress of our experience, all she said “oh really haha” in Spanish. No apology or anything. I usually don’t like to say anything bad about a restaurant but I wanted to warn others. Not worth the money spent...
Read more$6 Burrito wrapped in Wax paper with avocado, Carne Asada, cheese and loads of cilantro packed pico de gallo. Ask for the red sauce (orange in color). Note: by default they cut in half.
It is unbelievably difficult, nay impossible to find a Mission/Santa Cruz style Burrito on the Jersey shore. Most here are massive $11 affairs, (seriously $11 for a Burrito!!! ) 15mins to make, served on a plate with rice and beans, side salad and smothered in some odd sauce to be eaten with a fork and knife. Plenty for two.
That is not a Burrito. A burrito and a drink gets you change back from a $10. A burrito is started while walking out the door and down the street. A Burrito is one-handed eating and one-handed texting on a park bench. A burrito is finished while slowing for the yellow light, to savor one last bite. The burrito never makes it to the office fridge, as a spent burrito wrapper and salsa cup is tossed on to the passenger side floor before you even pull back to work.
A burrito is a one handed whole meal that nobody here seems to know how to make. But, I found where to get one again on old 3rd Ave...
