I recently (05/25/25) attended a special reception hosted by Congressman Frank Pallone, it was a late afternoon gathering to meet Mikie Sherrill, the Democratic Frontrunner Candidate for NJ Governor. I found the location to be perfect with an abundance of parking spots, both metered and free. The area we were set up in worked great, we were greeted and logged in at the front door, the rooms were modern, pretty and impressive. I am not sure if the food was brought in by Long Branch Democratic Club or supplied by the hotel but everything was clean, fresh, nicely presented and delicious. I ordered a water from the bar and the service was friendly and professional. People were seated throughout the space mostly at tables and booths along the walls, or they were standing at the long bar or in the open space. The room accommodated a nice size crowd and did so comfortably. I had to leave early, but I assume Mikie Sherrill, and perhaps the two Pallone brothers, moved into the next room to speak to the audience, and judging from what I did see while I was there, I'm sure the rest of the event went smoothly. Based on my visit, if I had to recommend a room to any friends I would not hesitate to suggest the Bungalow Hotel, and if I was planning any kind of event or gathering, I would surely consider this establishment.

Negative experience: The lobby was underwhelming, considering the exorbitant cost. The elevator buttons didn't work some of the time. There only seemed to be one luggage cart, which proved problematic when we had approximately 15 couples checking in all around the same time. At first glance, the 2 bedroom suite seemed nice but proved horribly unbalanced in luxury, as far as the two rooms go. The bed was slightly stiff. No handrails or anything to hang towels from - which was incredibly annoying. One of our sink taps was broken. 3 of the 4 front desk staff we interacted with were either not attentive or just flat out rude. No breakfast, just a few pastries, tea, juice, and coffee. The view, even from the top floor, was average at best. They advertise "pool and fitness centre access" but don't be fooled - they do NOT have these on site! You have to walk to another hotel about 10 minutes away to use theirs. Sure, it's included in the cost but it isn't convenient. Positive things: The shower in the larger room was good. Lots of little shops, salons and eateries within walking distance. Mark was great at check in. Overall, would absolutely not recommend. We were looking forward to a luxurious weekend and feel we have been horribly ripped off.

Location is great, vibe is very odd. Upon checkin on a Friday at about 3:30pm, we noticed a cute bar that looked closed. We were given vouchers for a free drink at either this bar or nearby wave, and we're told happy hour at the hotel bar started at 3. No action yet, so we went upstairs for a bit to settle in. We came down a bit after 6 to a dark bar. The front desk person yelled out to ask if we needed help, then yelled out that the bar "closed early tonight". It seemed the bar never opened. The lobby was interesting, with eye catching art and fixtures. The room felt cold and stark. It was large and there was no warmth, very little decor. Our comforter had "bungalow 2" written on it in marker! We have visited many hotels for work and pleasure, but haven't quite encountered anything like this. We needed water late at night and they were gracious and generous with bottles. Parking is $30 per day

We were overall happy with our stay at the Bungalow Hotel. We checked in on Friday June 7, 2024 and checked out Sunday morning June 9, 2024. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question and to welcome us as we entered the lobby to head to the elevator to our rooms and the location was perfect to the Pier Village restaurants and beach. The little bit of construction going on in and around the hotel didn't bother us as we understand the Pier Village area is undergoing lots of upgrades & restoration for all of us to enjoy! The parking garage was definitely a plus as it's a busy area on the weekends! We stayed on the 3rd floor and our room was clean, bright, airy and comfortable. Having a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig for coffee was great! I have one issue that for me as a guest was quite bothersome. It's 2024, why in the world is there not a full length mirror in the rooms? Not having a full length mirror was a big disappointment as I was there for my son's wedding and getting dressed for the welcome dinner and the actual wedding itself you expect and more importantly would like to be able to see yourself fully dressed and the only mirror available is a mirror in the bathroom! Here's how that situation goes: I'm getting dressed and the hubs is showering and shaving, the last thing I want to do when I have already done my hair & makeup is have to go back into a steamy bathroom to get a visual of my dress with my shoes, hair, jewelry and evening bag, maybe check the back side and see how it all looks over a vanity sink while tippy-toeing over a wet slippery tiled bathroom floor and still not really seeing down to my shoes! There is plenty of empty wall space in the rooms, I checked in three other rooms of my family members that were also staying on the 3rd floor and none of us had a full length mirror! No long full length mirror even in the suite that the bride and groom had reserved for themselves and their sitting room was used for all the bridesmaids to get ready with hair and makeup artists there and the photographer for some pre wedding pictures! Needless to say that was really frustrating! In this day and age of the "selfie" not that I wanted to take selfies of myself, but I did want to see my final look before heading out the door and it would've been nice for the bride to see the back of her dress and train! The lighting over the bathroom sinks was OK for a bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face but again it could definitely be better for the ladies trying to apply makeup for evenings out and special events at all the restaurants and venues that the area caters to! I would recommend the Bungalow Hotel if I'm asked about where to stay in Long Branch, but I hope someone from the hotel management will consider my experience and look into adding full length mirrors to each room. Note to self, before I make a reservation anywhere again, I will ask that question! If you are planning a trip to the beach for the weekend you will...

Although the room and hotel where clean, decor was bright and if everything worked would have been an enjoyable stay. However basic items like TV service and Wifi which have become part of everyday life where not working. Upon arrival we found two TVs in the room, one TV did work while the other couldn’t connect to WiFi. Reported to the desk when we left in afternoon but when we returned hours later the TV not working was not fixed but now neither worked. No internet access needed for operation Notified the desk which did come up to room but was unable to connect to WiFi The WiFi the TVs share is the same one guests get to connect too. The Guest WiFi!!!! I was unable to use the WiFi the entire stay even causing me to leave early morning so I could get to a useable WiFi connection for work. As I said TV and WiFi are not a luxury they are a normal part of life which didn’t work the majority of my stay. The desk personnel also reported their connection was unstable. SUGGESTION; the hotel should have more than one WiFi router, one for guests (not tv in rooms) but one for hotel operations including the Room TVs and people ability to work and use social media. Also the fireplace in room didn’t work consistently. The manager on duty said that it needed to have a part replaced so obviously they knew about the existing problem. The part couldn’t be replaced until after we checked out. Really? For this we were offered a resort fee waiver Of $37 against the room charge of more than $400. A resort fee which should never have been charged since the hotel offered no on site amenities but could at their sister property a ten minute walk away! The people at the desk tried to be helpful but it was clear that they were setup to fail as they had no authority to offer more that resort fee. They couldn’t even reset the router without calling some other party for permission. Work out basic services before charging rates equal to...

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. First, the room smelled moldy; climate control equipment was so noisy and leaked water all over the room, and fans in the bathroom and toilet were just too loud that it caused a nuisance to our stay for a family of 3. The Heater did not work as you would think; we had to use the fireplace to heat the room, which would turn off every 30 minutes. ||Secondly, fees, fees & fees that ultimately look like extortion. Resort fees and parking fees on top of what we paid for our stays. Let me not forget to mention that you technically do not receive anything unique or exciting for these fees. Trust me, I did my research and comparison. They say they serve breakfast, but it's downright mediocre. At breakfast time, there was no comfortable sitting to have the trashy breakfast offered, and they had us waiting for plates to dish the bagels, muffins, and juice they served. ||Thirdly, why the hell is there a non-functional wine cooler/ beverage center in the room? Just put in a damn refrigerator. Not every guest needs these wine coolers, but a fridge could make a guest's stay outstanding. On top of that, the wine cooler/ beverage center made this loud, obnoxious sound when we tried to turn it on to cool our leftovers and water. You can't even stay in the room with the wine cooler/ beverage center on; talk more of sleeping in the room with it on.||Honestly, I can go on and on about my bad experience at this hotel, but I will hold back on other frustrating experiences. For example, weird loud elevator noises, charging my card before checking in, when my booking said to pay at check-in. The owners of this establishment should get some pros to renovate these buildings, facilities, and rooms. I guarantee if these continue, you will take up one day with no guests in sight. This location is one of the best; make...
