It is one of the shore’s most popular beach towns. Last I visited this place in 2019 June, and I am seeing lots of changes since then.
It was once a quiet community surrounded by farms. Today, it’s a bustling resort town with wide, sandy beaches and an oceanfront promenade. In peak summertime, it took me almost 2 hrs. to reach here from Parsippany (Yup Traffic, Traffic & more Traffic) .
There is something for everyone and you can dine in or take out for a beach picnic. Pier Village has it all, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, Ice cream shops, and fine-dine. you can find everything which you desire when you are visiting any beach/shore. There’s also a 7Eleven for quick snacks, drinks, and beach items (toys, sunblock, etc..). There’s a surf shop, a clothing store, a shoe store,
Parking: just pray someone leaves the spot and then you park out there, I spent 20 mins going from one place to another. The fee is $3/hr and there is a garage but why would I pay $50 for the whole day? It’s more expensive than New York.
Beach passes are $5 per adult and children are free. You can buy them at the beach or online.
Don’t get me wrong, and I have been to every beach Jersey Shore has to offer, but I would keep Long Branch in the same league as Point Pleasant, Atlantic City...
Read moreI went to this beach on a weekday as I saw review saying weekends are crazy especially parking rates. Street parking is affordable, we paid $1 an hour for weekday while parking garage will charge at least $30 per day, no hourly rate. There are bathrooms but no shower nor changing room before the access to beach. Saw the bath hut on the beach but I think that's for rent. Didn't have the chance to enquire about that. They do have an open shower/spigot pillar to wash sand at the bottom of the staircase before you leave the beach. Access point is conveniently located off street parking on the boardwalk. They will check for alcohol before letting you in. Lifeguards are posted along the beach but if you want to be safe, pick a spot nearer to them. If you move further away from the shops and restaurants, the crowd is less crazy. No shaded area around the beach or boardwalk. There are water dispensers on boardwalk. Water is nice and the waves are not too choppy so it is...
Read moreI enjoyed this beach as it was a very short walk from where I lived at. Long Branch's beach area is very, well long. There are plenty of beach spots along the boardwalk to go to. It's crowded around Pier Village, but there is something for everyone between there and Elberon. Mornings and evenings are great times for the boardwalk. You can take a short stroll or a pretty long walk. The road that parallels the boardwalk is smooth and great for biking, inline Skating, or your choice of getting around. There are bathrooms and parking, although I don't know how the parking there works, and it's tight around the Village. Like a lot of Jersey shore communities, if you're willing to walk a little ways you can park in the neighborhood for free, just don't block someone's driveway and...
