The Pit — Restaurant in Long Branch

If lobster rolls are 90% of your menu, you better do it right. The Pit absolutely nails it! We both had the Cali lobster roll. Bacon, avacodo, tomatoes along with sides of homemade slaw and pickles. Absolutely amazing, lots of lobster. The thick cut bacon was perfectly cooked. I'm not a pickle fan but theirs changed my mind, slightly sweet, nice balance of acid, only problem is I want to take huge jar home and eat them all the time. $24 for a single lobster roll but you get what you pay for and The Pit...

I was soooo disappointed coming here given the great reviews. The lobster roll was not only small, but the meat tasted frozen/ bland. My roll had more lettuce than lobster! I got the connecticut roll, and it was cold and had barely any flavor or butter. We also got the onion dip and for $9 you get one small bag of chips with it.. not worth it. There are much better lobster rolls around the jersey shore, these are not good to be $26. Otherwise, the singer was great and the outdoor area...

Holy lobster! Already planning our return trip. Keep it simple and do it right. Lobster bisque is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a lot. Exceptionally fresh. I had the Cali. Bacon makes everything better. The Connecticut was authentic and pure. So much better than cracking open a lobster and picking at it. Stop what you’re doing and find this place. Try it for yourself. Simply my favorite place to go now...
