Normally it's a little slow, but today was not good. I spent nearly 15 minutes getting a cup of coffee. The guy waiting next to me stormed out because no one was paying attention to the customers in line. Literally 10 customers waiting to be served, and everyone is doing their own thing. There were three people behind the counter. One was at the bar, another had just come in, and a lady.
I felt really bad for the gentle guy that had just come in. He put on his apron. Asked quietly about what needed to be done. The guy at the bar said, get on the bar (because he had 10 online orders backed up). So he did.
The woman who was originally on the register paid zero attention to us, she didn't acknowledge our existence. She was too consumed with sticking the online orders to cups and fulfilling the online sandwich orders. I had to ask for someone to help, and the nice gentle guy volunteered. He took my order and put it in the back of the crazy line of drinks. While he was getting my order ready the woman finally acknowledged our existence and asked the guy after me for his order. The guy told her that like 3 people stormed out the door. and she IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY chastised the sweet guy about not taking the register (when she was clearly working at the register station while taking online orders). The nice guy just acknowledged her, and since she was taking orders went back to the bar. Out of nowhere, the guy at the bar barked at the nice guy to "get out of my way".
What kind of management is this? Clearly understaffed, can't handle online orders and customers, and have cranky terrible people walking all over the nice guy.
By the way, all those sandwiches she was making were still sitting there 20 minutes after she made them. I can only imagine she was the person in charge this morning. She let customers walk out angry, and publicly humiliated an employee because she didn't prioritize well.
The only reason I am writing this is because of how the nice guy was treated. I can deal with not getting my coffee 3 minutes after ordering it (Starbucks standard), I'm writing because in less than 15 minutes he was verbal abused by all his colleagues in front of customers. All in all it was a terrible start to a snowy morning. And management needs to revisit how they staff and manage online orders. When the girls are there, these problems don't exist - and my coffee takes 7 minutes...
Read moreI guess it goes without saying that good help is hard to find, and the lengths that you have to go to find that help is not necessarily good or easy. Anyway, perhaps I'm just having a bad customer service day, where my needs are not getting met. But aside from the fact that the employees are really friendly, housekeeping definitely lags behind as in a restaurant, or a store like Starbucks, where there is not really much going on, there shouldn't be plates piling high over by the garbage, a customer shouldn't have to tell staff that the napkins are completely out, and tables should be wiped down within minutes after people leave. Perhaps it was busy before I got there. I don't know. I'm just thinking people could do...
Read moreAs someone who works for Starbucks at another location, I feel I am able to say that this is a lackluster Starbucks. The customer service is pretty bad compared to the many I've been to. My very simple drink order, which is always the same, is never executed properly at this location either. It makes me think that maybe these baristas haven't been properly trained or evaluated on their work. It's unacceptable, in my opinion, for these workers not to be able to do this job. I've done this job. I do this job every day. It's not rocket science. Just show some care! I wasn't going to write a review, but I have had multiple bad experiences here. These baristas need to wake up and do their job like...
