I like Ziggi's Coffee a lot, but the 17th & Hover location has quality issues. It is convenient for me on my way to work in the morning, but on multiple visits over the last couple of years my daily brew order with light cream tastes more like cream than coffee. I tried emphasizing that as a "splash of cream", but that concept seems foreign to the staff on how to control the amount of cream added. I guess I could refine to how many teaspoons of cream to add.
As Ziggi's grows, it seems customer service lessens. I sent a request last Friday of my disappointment in my order through their website contact info, but no reply. I was holding off on posting this review, but I believe in the 24 hour response time to at least acknowledge a message.
I could always add my own cream at work, I guess. However, it seems such a simple addition that routinely gets butchered by the lackadaisical staff. Starbucks is across the street . . .
Update 4/8/22
They still can't get it right. Since the last jug of cream I was supplied, I have been ordering black. I figured I would try today by requesting a "splash of cream" and "light cream" to see if they could get it right.
Nope. Quarter of the way through my drink, it started tasting like chalk and doesn't even taste like coffee. Opened up the lid and the color of the coffee is way too light for just a splash of cream. It is a medium roast, but I can see the white swirl of cream on top.
I get everyone has a different taste level. For a 24 oz drink size, my expectation of a little bit of cream would be a tablespoon at most. Terrible quality control. Pretty sure my request goes in one ear and out the other from the order taker.
From a cost of supplies, I would guess it's more costly to be overusing cream versus brewed coffee. I would hate to taste what an order of "regular cream" tastes like. Hold the coffee please and just give me the pitcher of cream.
Reduced to one star for lack of continued quality control over what should be...
Read moreI used to really like this location but I have no idea what happened to their drinks. I've been going for at least a year getting basically the same drink every time, and within the past few times I've gone they've messed up my drinks. I've politely asked could you please blend ice into it like you used to, or can you please remake my drink. And they do, they are nice and kind, but when it's every single time they are messing up my drink.. obviously someone dropped the ball when training the new hires. Their 'frozen' coffee drinks are watery like they don't even blend ice into it anymore, even when i show up exactly on time it looks like its been sitting out for a good 45 minutes. And regular hot coffee drinks are hit or miss whether you'll get what you paid for. I pay for extra shots of expresso but it still barely tastes like coffee. I have go home and add ice and my own expresso to make it 'right'. I rather not have to go home and 'fix' something i paid for. Used to really like this location, now I might just go to Starbucks or a different Ziggis location that actually knows how to make their drinks. It's very disappointing because I still like this franchise and would like to see them improve again, because I know they can! If it improves at this location, I will likely leave a better review in the future. Because when they do get it right their...
Read moreThe lady working there (who was about 40) not only had an awful attitude but was completely incompetent this morning. We've usually had good experiences with the other girls and Ziggi's in general. However she was throwing an attitude from the moment we pulled in. While trying to order she constantly interrupted me asking cream or sugar over and over rather then listen to me. I had to pull to the window because she wouldn't listen to me at all. Then because I ordered a half caff coffee she got mad and lectured me that half caff and half cream were different! Of course I know they're different, sadly she was the one who did not and I didn't need chewed out for something like that. She was completely unwilling and unable to do any drink that didn't exactly follow the script, such as add an extra shot to my other drink. We never received our drinks because before that another girl (who was completely innocent) asked us to pay and the total was over $15 for two coffees! We asked why it was so expensive and apparently the incompetent lady even rang up extra drinks after we spent 10 minutes explaining we wanted one iced half caff coffee and one mocha to her! At that point we had to drive away because we were afraid of what we'd actually get after all of that! I hope she's fired because clearly she's dissatisfied with her job and the other girls do great...
