I am giving 5 stars because this a lovely business with artful food and great service and drinks. This is the most delicious Mexican food you will ever eat. I have a concern that that has frustrated me several times visiting here. An extra shot of tequila is $12!!! For what? We got drinks at the table and the waitress up sold us a shot in our margaritas. We said of course not knowing that it was the same price as the Margarita. When we got our check we saw 3 MARGS WITH AN EXTRA SHOT CAME TO $80!! This is ridiculous and the cost of a family meal for 3 margaritas. It’s honestly frustrating to see just because yes I consented you a $12 margaritas and wanted a drink but I doubled my meal cost. Absolutely visit El Rey it’s food you will not get anywhere and it’s truly truly delicious and beautiful. I just wanted to voice this issue to the company and everyone beware getting an extra shot you will regret it for the price I paid I could have got my own bottle of Don Julio and...

Read moreI went to this place to celebrate with my family. My brother and I have birthdays just for days apart. They asked if we were celebrating anything and my dad said yes it is their birthday. So when they came to the table with the standard sombrero and sang to us, that was normal. However, the assault that occurred after they finished singing was not normal. As I went to remove the sombrero from my head the server from behind me slammed a napkin full of whipped cream in my face and twisted it knocking my glasses off in the process. This is never ok. They are very lucky that I am a calm person, considering I had my concealed carry on my waist. What if they had done that to a hot headed person? This is extremely uncalled for and in hindsight, I should have called the police at that moment. Who does that to a person? I will never go back to this place and I will never recommend it...
