Lovely Eatery — Restaurant in Longview

A humble hole-in-the wall with freshly cooked Mexican dishes. The chips are thick tortillas, likely fried in-house. The salsa is very good. Plenty of filling in the enchiladas. The refried beans were flavorful and smooth. The first surprise was the menu offering of crepes! Fluffy and tender, offered with topping options of fruit, Nutella or Cajeta, the crepes are delicious! The other surprise was that each item is charged ala carte, and I mean everything. We were charged for each salsa, including the two squeeze bottles dropped off at our table when the meal was served (one red and one green, and both with a nice kick). Iced water evidently comes from a bottle and was more expensive than the tea. The final tally on the bill was a surprise, so just be aware of this unusual billing when you go. And you should go. Try it out. Definitely, splurge...

This place is awesome! The name is a little deceiving. It’s authentic Mexican, which the name doesn’t exactly suggest. It’s not Tex Mex. The breakfast tacos and burritos are fantastic! The huevos a la Mexicana, bean and cheese taco is absolutely delicious. Really good chips, salsa and guacamole. Their hot sauce is really good too. The hot sauce reminds me a lot of taco deli’s in Austin or Dallas if you’ve ever been. Enchiladas suizas were also really good. The flautas are great. I haven’t had anything so far that I haven’t liked. The folks that work there are so nice. Longview needs more local restaurants like this one. My husband, two of our grandsons and I are eating at Lovely Eatery. We are drinking Mexican Cokes and enjoying freshly fried tortilla chips and spicy red salsa. Both grandsons are eating delicious bacon breakfast tacos. Our grandson, Zander, ate his first bacon breakfast taco and then ordered another! Hubby and I are enjoying hearty breakfast taco plates, with brisket, chorizo, and bacon taco fillings. The potatoes are delicious! The tiny restaurant is clean, and our waitress is nice.
