UPDATE 8/8/2022: We were back in town visiting for my father-in-law's 82nd birthday and dropped into Roost for lunch Monday. Service and attitude was still excellent from all the staff, and the food was still great. This time I tried the JALAPEÑO BACON GRILLED CHEESE sandwich and it was excellent. Not spicy, but with just a little kick from the fresh jalapeno cut up onto it. The fruit side was perfect and very fresh. The Community iced tea they serve is just outstanding. Another great visit! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FROM 2 MONTHS AGO: Our first time eating at a Roost restaurant while in Longview visiting the in-laws. Wow, the food was outstanding, and there is a ton on the menu we want to try out. I ate half my sandwich before I realized I should take a picture of it for this review. Wiped up the mess on the plate to make the pic a bit nicer...LOL This is half of "The Rooster" sandwich (brisket - ham - bacon - cheddar - jalapeño - fried egg - avocado - BBQ sauce - served on a grilled jalapeño cheddar roll), and the pic does not do it justice. The portions are extremely generous and this sandwich was huge. For all who might have trouble dragging the Cro-Magnon Man half to a restaurant that advertises chicken salad sandwiches and salads, do not worry. There are plenty of manly sandwich choices for all appetites, plus the salad choices are excellent, too. Had extremely friendly service across the board. Area director was on-scene as they trained up new employees for the new New Braunfels location that will be opening in the near future. We're excited, as we are from San Antonio. Going to be a hit down here, too. Highly recommended.

Today was my first visit and it did not disappoint! I've seen several of the Facebook ads consistently on my feed and had to try them out. Today I got the Rooster sandwich with potato salad. OMG!! So delish! It was seriously piled high just as described. You have the option of getting a half or a whole sandwich and I of course tackled the whole one! It is more than enough food to satisfy 2 people!! The jalapeño cheese bread was sweet and soft. The bacon was perfectly cooked and crispy! The brisket and ham were so juicy and complimented the sandwich so well!! The avocado and egg made it healthier and more delicious!!! The delectable bbq sauce will make your eyes roll into the back of your head!! It's a sweeter sauce. The potato salad was perfect as well. I will be satisfied for the remainder the day. I don't usually eat out because I am trying to budget better in my late 30s and get this adulting thing under control of course, but gosh I am SO glad I decided to see what everyone else talks about. The restaurant was clean and organized. I called to speak to the manager, Trevor, to tell him how much I enjoyed my food and he was so nice and appreciated the compliment. I will be back!! I'll just had to set aside a budget labeled The Roost over there with Trevor and the gang because I love it there!! Please go see for yourself! I'm no food photographer, so this was the best I could do whilst smelling and holding this beast of a sandwich. That is all. Haha!

This is a great place for breakfast! The employees are all kind and very helpful. They have a large selection on their breakfast menu. I got the French toast with eggs and seasoned potatoes and I chose sausage as my protein. The portions were huge, I took home half of my food because I was so full. My husband got the same thing as me only he got the pancake stack. The pancakes are huge. Honestly I never would have thought of going to a restaurant named Roost to eat breakfast, but I'm so glad we did. The entire restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. There wasn't a single thing I would change. I wish there was one closer to home, we drove 45 minutes to eat breakfast but it was so worth it. Oh and the prices were amazing! Stop by and try them out!

Ok … so this is my first time trying the roost. So I decided to treat my team at work. We decided on chicken spaghetti casserole with turkey sandwiches. We didn’t choose turkey, but apparently that’s the only sandwich option that was available.

Ok, so when we called to inquire about the sandwiches the lady who answered the phone said she didn’t know what my sandwich options were. I had to read to her what was mentioned on the website. She said the only thing they had ingredients for was a turkey and Swiss sandwich. Ok. No point in arguing, so I said that’s fine.

Fast forward to me receiving the food from the door dash delivery person, heather. She was excellent. Really nice and helpful.

No plates or bowls were given. Ok. Plenty of plastic ware was received. The salad looked fresh. The loaves of bread were .. well I didn’t eat them so I won’t speak on them.

I was surprised however that the chicken spaghetti was delivered COLD to a place of business. A warehouse at that. No where and I mean NO WHERE does your website or menu suggest that this dish is served cold and has to be placed in a oven. No where. So I have wasted $40 on lunch that no one could eat because it was cold and there were no plates or bowls provided to eat from.

This almost feels like a scam. I feel like I have been tricked out of my money to buy food that was not ready to eat.

I did manage to find a styrofoam cup and place some chicken spaghetti in it, and placed it in the microwave. The taste was not there. Absolutely no seasoning. I’m just disgusted with this experience.

I’m sorry but I can NOT recommend this establishment to anyone at this time.

I am an honest reviewer. I don’t believe in fabricating or falsifying my reviews for any type of gain. I can only tell you about my experience.

I’m not telling anyone NOT to eat here, but I am Recommending that they think this thru. Especially if you’re not at home and are considering a...
