Stopped by for lunch on my way to Portland on Wednesday around 2:30 so it wasn't very busy. We walked in and waited a while and a waitress eventually came and only asked if there were two of us.. no hello, no welcome...nothing! It was very, very obvious that she was not a happy camper at that very moment. She takes us to our table where she drops our menus on the floor and just picks them up and hands them to us and walks away. She didn't even make an effort to wipe them off at the very least. She tells us she's busy with two other tables and that she'll be back. A while later she comes around and we placed our drink orders; she returned with my glass with ice water and my partners iced tea and literally threw the straws on the table and walked away. I felt like leaving at that point because aside from being an older lady having to wear a 50s/60s cheesy diner uniform on her feet all day, sadly I immediately figured out what her issue was with us, or rather, with my partner - it's not that difficult! đđžââď¸đ She returned with our orders after a long wait and no surprise my ranch was not ranch dressing, there was no gravy for my mashed potatoes and the so-called steak is a very thin strip of soft leather akin to the "meat" they sell at Dollar General. The mashed potatoes were tough, I could build a mashed potato castle with them. I mentioned to our server that my "mashed potatoes" did not come with the BROWN gravy I ordered and she comes back with a small cup and sarcastically and insincerely says, "sorry about that hun!", in a sing-song tone. đ Needless to say I did not eat this food, I went to the restroom and again, no surprise: one toilet was clogged with toilet paper, etc. and the tiny bathroom overall was not very clean. I walked out, asked for the check and we gratefully left this place behind. I will never go here again! The sign says Stuffy's II, with this kind of food and service I can't even begin to comprehend how they got passed Stuffy's I! The concept of the decor is cute but the dining room overall is dingy and the service severely lacks friendliness and modern day inclusive thinking and acceptance, otherwise known as kindness!. I will highly recommend to anybody and everybody that I know and don't know to not eat here - it was a waste of money and time and a free 45 minute getaway to the 'South' 𫤠There are so many other places to go to in Longview sadly, I chose this one... Never again! By the way, I'm Lovin the Declaration of Independence window covering, unfortunately someone can't read it from the inside, I'll help her (Wednesday April 14 around 2:30 older lady SERVER with a ponytail) get started: ... "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable RIGHTS, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of...
Read moreThe service at Stuffy's didn't start out that great since we had to wait quite a while after being sat at our table, but everything after that went well so it was a good experience overall. The restaurant was fairly busy when we came in for lunch so I think that was the reason as the waitress seemed busy, it was great service after that so give yourself a bit of time if you come in for lunch.
Let me say that the portion sizes here will not have you leaving hungry for sure. We learned of the challenge meals that they have from the menu but then also learned that the portions sizes are just very generous overall. Yelp reviews are what caused us to stop here and I see what they are saying with the sizes being great here. We got a mini cinnamon roll that was enough for a breakfast in itself but we did try a couple of other things.
The pancakes were ok as far as it goes but weren't my favorite, I'm not sure if it was something of a margarine vs butter thing but it seemed to be popular amongst many of the other visitors. The short stack was more than enough though, I almost got the large cake & was told that was pizza platter size which would have been quite a bit....I almost got it just for the picture! I would recommend trying these before full judgment as I did enjoy them and it was more than enough, just not one that I would get again.
The tiny stuff was more than enough for one person we found out and was better received than the pancakes. We call it a garbage plate in Wisconsin at many establishments and it seemed very similar in goodness at this location. The tiny stuff was awesome in size and flavor so it's very recommended if you don't mind having everything all together!
Overall Stuffy's is one that I would recommend stopping in and trying. Their cinnamon rolls are awesome and tiny stuff is great too. They have many other offerings that if I lived in the area I would try as well, they really have a great menu & everything came out hot. Their website doesn't seem to be working so check out the photos on Yelp or Facebook to get an idea of what you want before you come, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all!
They did respond to my Yelp review already and apologized for the initial wait which shows they are a business that cares about the reviews from their customers, it's awesome to have that from a business making me want to stop in even more if we're ever in...
Read moreIt's the stop of most of my gal friends go to. All if us in SSU, but our pennnys go further here than in specialty food court places. At least their pork and beef are great! Rumors are, they use grass fed beef from a local source. No.. Haven't had chicken yet. And no fish yet. But I'm sure they will be tasty. If you dont like what they served. TELL THEM! This is the first place that I don't get"snark" if something has to go back. And with times being so tough with money, it's rare to get a turn back, and a pleasant attitude. Yet they do it anytime. We go back every 6 weeks or do to get their ribs. They must be slow cooked in a bag to get them so dammmm tender! And price? More than fair. It's worth the drive and the price... We live in Scappoose, and it's about a 45-60 minute drive. But worth it. We've also had several serversđ§, all of them helpful and kind. This place has only one way in. You may have to circle back... But worth the effort. And NO! Never have we had room for their famous sticky buns. It's plate sized and about 8" high. There's no way we could use it at home because both of us are tiny stomach syndromes. It would take us 2 weeks to consume it.... But we want to some day. Ohhhhh you want to make sure you try their pizza sticks.. Aka. Mozzarella sticks! Dip them (yes you have to ask) in marinara sauce. They are will your eyes good and they are not tough like most places.... Meaning they cook them fresh. They do not double-cook to keep them on the warmer shelf. Most places DO! They...
