Wanted to really love this place. We brought my cousin here while she was visiting from out of town. At first, it was great. Good craft beers, cool atmosphere, a place we could bring kids and when I say kid, I’m referring to my daughter who is 16. But our experience quickly went south when a female bartender approached my daughter and I over at the dart game area and she took darts out of my daughter’s hands and told her you can’t play unless you pay and when you throw the darts at the machine they make a buzzing sound and we can hear it up at the bar. Ok. Well first off we had been playing darts for almost 40 mins before she approached us. And she was extremely condescending to myself and my daughter. My daughter was pretty horrible at playing, but she wanted to learn so she asked before the next game we were about to play if she could have a practice round and if I/we could show her how to do it. We literally threw the darts 1-2 times each before we were approached. And it was as if she told us we were done playing because she snatched the darts every last one of them and walked back to the bar. I tried to explain and she didn’t give a rip. Also didn’t seem to care that we had spent $$ on two rounds already with our party that was there. Tables that were around us with other patrons were just s stunned as we were and couldn’t believe what just happened as well and asked us what happened? Why did she take the darts? She took y'all's fun away. And I gave my explicit reason and we both agreed clearly they aren’t as kid friendly as they let on. What’s next they take away the connect four connectors? And had i known we were breaking some big time rule on the dart game I would have followed it. Didn’t really think it was that big of a deal considering we had been paying all along and played for well over 40 mins before she even approached us, and were planning on continuing to do so up until she snatched the darts away out of my daughter’s and I hands. ...
Read moreCome to town often, but visiting Orlando and not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from. The biggest problem was... prior to my first beer I asked to try 2 different beers, which I took a small sip of and then passed the other half the tester to my boyfriend so we both could try the 1/2 oz sample. He did the same and we ordered our first round. Prior to ordering the next round we asked to try 1 other and were informed they would grant one more sample, but that would be the last one. They do have a massive selection of which 75% of is on the high side of the abv scale. I enjoyed the first beer I had, but with that kind of customer service didn't bother to order a 2nd as I felt we were unwanted in the establishment. The place itself is a decor nightmare... beautiful stone bar backsplash but with tacky star wars themed stuff around the bar, meanwhile the rest of place just had the most random selection of artwork that didn't go together with anything. A hard sofa against the wall had a nasty table pressed up against it. Nothing special at all, no ambiance. The lock was falling off one of the stalls in the ladies room. Whole place seemed dingy and not very clean. Bartenders were cold and again, not very welcoming. 2 stars for the one beer I had and enjoyed, but won't return ever. Way too many amazing breweries in Orlando to spend...
Read moreI spent days searching all over the internet to find a place to have my 30th birthday. All the event spaces I was looking at were wayyy overpriced and too much for what I needed. I came across an article that had listed the Sourglass room of Hourglass for an event space and it was absolutely perfect. Shelby is the event coordinator there and she was so amazing and easy to work with. I talked with Shelby about my needs and they could accommodate everything perfectly. Not only that but she went above and beyond to help me host this event. She thought of things I didn't and the whole thing was very affordable. She made sure we were taken care of the whole night with the help of another member of the staff, Byron. Byron was pouring us beers all night and helping with anything that came up and was such a pleasure to be around. Shelby even went out of her way to wish me a Happy Birthday several times during the event and introduced me to their AMAZING frozen sour which I highly recommend. I just want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to Shelby, Byron and Hourglass. Because of all of them, I had the best birthday and I will be sure to recommend them to anyone who ever needs an event space or just a cool place to hang out. Thank you all so much for such a great night! I am...
