Vegan On The Island — Restaurant in Longwood

Amazinggggg, I came across this restaurant during black history month on ig and was confused on how i never knew it was here on a street i travel on everyday. I didn't get a chance to go in Feb in honor of BHM celebrating a black owned business but I promised myself i was still going to make it sooner than later. NEVER before have I had vegan anything that was this good. The food is prepared cooked so well and fresh you literally forget what you're eating isn't actually the meat you think you're eating. It took my son until we got all the way to our next destination and me saying those mushrooms really taste like bbq chicken and he says what mushrooms i thought the man was joking because this is chicken can't be mushrooms😅Customer service so warming and so is the atmosphere and layout of the restaurant the sitting area is a smaller comfier more of an intimate vibe and ambiance with a beautiful window lighting. My Daughter sent me a text message saying "Mama you have to try this place." Well, Vegan on the Island wasn't open on Monday but on Tuesday I ordered on line the Rasta pasta and Soursop coconut smoothie. MANNNNNN......listen!! I was on the phone with my Daughter when I took the first bite. I took another bite and I told my Baby "I GOTS TO GO, BYE." The bread on top of the Rasta pasta was so delicious. Amazing fresh vegan food! A true comfort food island style delight. Pics include the Callaloo and Fritter Platter (incredible texture and super developed flavor), the Curry Chick Wrap, and the Soursop Coconut Smoothie (which tasted like a key lime pie YUM!!). Portion size was great and prices were reasonable.

Was a little confusing to find, but it’s right across from the Spa entrance. Parking can be tricky or easy depending on time of day and chance.
