This has been floating in my list of places to try for ages. And let me tell you it shook me. Sushi is my favorite food. Favorite ever. I eat sushi more than most people. I have been to so many sushi places it's ridiculous. And the rolls I got were EASY put into my top 10 best I've ever had. Period. So coming into the restaurant, it was so full (amazing sign always) and kinda a small but warm and cozy and lively place. I sat at the bar because it's the only spot that could accommodate me. Totally fine. The server came out and took my order. It took a good minute for it to come out but it's fine. The restaurant was a FULL house. I understood. Was absolutely worth the wait. I got the 2 most popular rolls to see what they were about. Both of them were very similar but not at the same time. The most popular rolls seems to be the Shibuya and the Ma-Se. So that's what I did. The Shibuya had torched salmon on top, in a sauce, and the Ma-Se was a spicy tuna in a sauce as well, listen...when a restaurant names a roll after it's entire establishment. You get it. It's the rules. Their whole namesake. Is in this roll for a damn good reason. The other roll was good. But the Ma-Se was probably one of the most delicious things I've put in my mouth, and I was concerned about the asparagus in sushi because I've disliked rolls in the past that have added asparagus. Being full I still wanted dessert because they said they had Thai tea creme brulee. Phenomenal also. Not too sweet. Great flavor, texture was a little thicker than most creme brulee I've had. Wish it had slightly more brulee sugar ontop for a stronger crackle but I super loved it. Would order it all again and again. I will be coming back here again this week to bring friends because I can't stop thinking about this place. About to become a regular for sure. Gem of...
Read moreI came here with my friend and this place was recommended by some former coworkers. I'm not much of a sushi eater so I got the Ka Pow Chicken which was really flavorful. My buddy got the Salmon Belly sushi, octopus sashi, squid sushi, Uni, pot stickers, and fish & curry dip. He said the pot stickers and spicy curry were great, the fried fish batter was a little bland but crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was likely bland for dipping into the curry sauce. He also said the octopus and squid were great quality. I think he enjoyed the salmon belly more than the sea urchin but he liked them both so much he wasn't able to pick a favorite. The urchin was salty from the sea and melted in his mouth with the crispy seaweed wrap. The salmon belly he compared to a sea version of A5 wagyu, very soft and they used a torch to give it a light sear and finished it with a gold leaf top for a visual pop.
We had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated and we sat at the bar. We were able to watch them hand craft his sushi and I even pointed out when they took his ingredients out from the little chilled display in front of us and started preparing his order. The attention to detail was awesome to watch and the chef even gave recommendations to my buddy at the end.
Their menu also mentions vegetarian and gluten free but you will need to talk...
Read moreVery chill environment and clean. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Wasn’t impressed with the food though. For the area it was above average, but in general it was average. Spicy tuna roll wasn’t spicy nor was the spicy mayo.
Update: 12/2/25 -
I don’t understand why they won’t hire more staff. We’ve returned and the food has since improved, however, they are severely understaffed for how busy they are. We placed a to go order, and showed up 5 minutes early to pick it up. The food wasn’t ready until over 30 minutes later after telling us to only wait 10 more minutes. There was only one person working the tables and 1 chef. For a full restaurant, and Togo orders, this is just poor management and honestly lacking common knowledge of food industry staffing. I’ve never experienced a place constantly understaffed like this. It is small, however they remain busy. If you can’t do it alone, don’t. Everyone knows to have people staffed and if you’re slow send them home. Makes you wonder why they’re running things the way they are. It also drives customers away from the store because it makes the customer feel as if they aren’t valued by the restaurant, and it takes FOREVER to get taken care of! Pretty...
