Gander Taphouse — Restaurant in Loomis

The Gander Taphouse conveys a fruit packing shed with a rustic cabin feel with plants throughout the taphouse. Gander Taphouse is a place where people connect with family, friends or a first date. There is shuffleboard and foosball inside, cornhole and connect four outside on the patio. It's a great date spot. Grab a cold beer and find a cozy place to get to know each other. Or break the ice and start off with a friendly game of foosball. If you'd like to extend the date, a romantic stroll throughout downtown Loomis would set the mood for that first kiss. I’ve written a beer column for almost 20 years. I’ve covered hundreds of breweries all over the world as a travel writer and columnist, and on my radio show and this is the least friendly brewery I’ve ever visited. The ambience was poor. It was noisy and the servers were quite unfriendly and unwelcoming. The charcuterie board was the best thing about the place. Every glass was dirty. Even the water glasses were filthy. What a refreshing change from all of the typical brew houses. The selection of taps are varied, and include way more than the stale old IPA's that similar establishments offer. The decor is rustic, and really fits into the Loomis lifestyle. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the products they were selling. Best of all, the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. I had the Cubano sandwich, and my wife had the French dip, they were both fresh and tasty.
