The first time I ate there I had the margherita pizza, the butter pasta, veggie lasagna and dita bread. All of them were great. I have been back many times and I will say it's more constant that their pizzas and dita bread is blackend from over cooking. Their interpersonal skills are not quite there, the teenagers are unfriendly and the kitchen staff are usually annoyed if you ask for parmesan cheese or hot oil. My family is Sicilian descent and my grandparents and great grandparents have owned many Italian restaurants in the East coast and in California and one thing I learned from them is the food needs to be as good as the company of the kitchen. These people never talk to their customers or ask how their day is let alone smile. The last time I went in was this past Saturday with my niece(last time I will patron this place). I got there around 3pm for the lunch special that ends at 330pm. I ordered the margherita lunch special and asked for extra cheese (they are very skimpy on the mozzarella). She charged me 13.95 for the pizza (lunch price is 8.95) + an additional 2$ for the extra cheese. When I asked her about it she said asking for extra cheese took away the lunch promotion (it didn't make sense to me but they aren't friendly and at this point i just wanted to eat). The pizza crust never fails to be black and the Dita bread this last time was so crunchy and black my 1 year old niece spit it out, they remade a soft pale batch after I requested them so it would be edible.I paid 30$ for 1 8inch personal pizza, 1 soda and burnt dita bread. Flour dust in Roseville and Medici kitchen in sacramento have same style brick oven pizzas but better customer service and better prices and they won't skimp on the cheese. I will admit I will miss the Dita bread for the times it was cooked right but their prices are too much( and they overcharge!!)to gamble the quality or deal with cold staff when you send it back. Save yourself a trip...
Read moreHorrible experience. Ordered pizza and pasta. Our pasta was just sitting on the counter for 10 minutes before any employee noticed. It had endured multiple flies landing on it as well as two customers talking directly over it with the employees across counter.
Finally the employee touched it with her FINGER and decided it was cold and put it back in a pan as it just sat there and burned. Finally they remembered we had an order (multiple customers after us had already been served). We got the pasta and it was dry as hay. This place has ZERO awareness. You’d think with all of the staffing they have, someone should’ve noticed something. I’m no stranger to a bootstrapped eatery or even one that might have a few screws loose but the ignorance was just absurd.
Word of advice: Fire the three careless employees and hire one that really loves their job. Heck, a guy even came in to hand over his resume...hire that guy! Sounded like he actually would’ve cared to correct the issue. Silver lining is the BBQ place next door is getting our money indefinitely as they had wonderful service and excellent food. Go next door and learn...
Read moreOf all the restaurants I have ever been to, this is my number 1 choice. The owners are often in and very friendly. The food is heavenly and clearly cooked with care and love. Every time I come in I get the exact same quality of food and service. I highly recommend the Campania if you have not tried it, it is one of the most unique and tasty pizzas I’ve ever had. There are also many options for deserts, all of which are house made from scratch. The ingredients are all fresh and high quality as well. If you are looking for somewhere to bring a group of friends or family to have a good time, or just have a delicious meal by yourself, this authentic Italian restaurant is a must.
Be prepared if you go during normal meal times, especially dinner time that it is busy and space is limited so you may need to wait for a table, however you will not...
