We patronized this restaurant several times from the grand opening. However, in the past 6-7 months we've experienced a decline in customer service, food quality, and overall service.
Today, from the moment my wife and I walked in the door, we felt unwelcomed. There was a sense of conscious bias, but we still gave it a chance to get better.
The menus we thrown on the table and the host just walked away. He then went to another table to seat a party of 3, he was very cordial and attentive to their needs.
He explained the specials, took their drink orders, and made them feel welcomed. By the way, the Margaritas were premixed from Costco, not authentic from the bar.
We ordered street tacos with shredded chicken and were served chunk and shredded mix that looked like the scrapings from another uneatened plate.
The servers were not pleasant, served us like we were interrupting their day. I will no longer endorse this restaurant and we not return.
We just returned from Mexico and this place doesn't come close to the level of service and quality of food we had in Mexico.
La Fogata is now La Forgetaboutit!
Too bad the overall service has declined. As a chef and foodie, I offer a very unbiased review of this establishment. I have a discerning palette and don't understand the sterling reviews about this place. What is it being...

Normally, I love La Fogata and recommend it to everyone—I’m a regular, and their burritos are some of the best around. But my visit on July 25 around 2 PM was a big letdown.
My colleague and I stopped by after work, both starving. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito (no cheese, no sour cream, no rice), and my friend ordered a California burrito with chorizo. Instead, my friend got a bacon breakfast burrito, and mine came loaded with extra sour cream, extra rice, barely any chorizo, and no guacamole. Basically the opposite of what I asked for.
I called right away, and the cashier apologized, but nothing could be done at the time. I get that mistakes happen, but driving off hungry with food you can’t eat is a rough experience, especially when you’re looking forward to a meal.
I’ll still recommend La Fogata because I think they’re one of the best in the area, but I hope they can be more careful with orders in the...
Read moreI read all of the reviews and thought, "Wow, finally a great Mexican restaurant and close to me in Loomis! We were so excited to try it. We went with my son and daughter in law and their 4 boys, so there were 8 of us. The service was soooo slow (and probably the kitchen's fault, not the waitress). They would bring out one dish at a time. My 7 year old grandson was so patient. I actually think they forgot his, because we were all done eating and I kept saying that we still needed his chicken enchiladas. The sauce on my chili verde tasted like a can of green enchilada sauce and a can of chicken broth mixed together. The chicken in his chicken enchiladas tasted like boiled chicken with absolutely NO seasoning-not even salt. Luckily the kids were great-their patience was way better than mine. So, I don't think I will be going back. If it's like this at 5:00 on a Sunday, what's it like on...
