Not the best Mexican food I’ve had, but for a small town spot it does the job just fine. Ceviche: Get Huge portion served in a giant goblet. Fresh, tangy, and loaded with shrimp and veggies. It was a lot to handle and we didn’t even finish it. Burrito: Maybe? Massive size, definitely fills you up, but the flavor was just okay. Living in SoCal has me spoiled so this didn’t quite compare. The place was pretty empty when we came in, but it was late so that probably explains it. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. Food: 6/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 6/10

The margaritas was really good over ice. They brought tortilla chips & salsa. We had the chimichanga and the molita with asada. The molita is kind of like a quesadilla. The tortillas were grilled perfect snd added to the flavor. It came with sour cream & guacamole i side. So good! I uswd some id the salsa on my molita!Great customer service & a really welcoming & relaxing atmosphere.

OH MY YUMMY! This place is SOO good, my fiancée and I have been searching for our new go to Mexican food spot that makes us think of home (San Diego). HERE IT IS! this place is just jaw dropping delicious! The beans and cheese that feel out of my burrito as I split it in half made me speechless. Love this spot so happy we drove here from Lincoln and we will 100% be coming back!

We patronized this restaurant several times from the grand opening. However, in the past 6-7 months we've experienced a decline in customer service, food quality, and overall service.

Today, from the moment my wife and I walked in the door, we felt unwelcomed. There was a sense of conscious bias, but we still gave it a chance to get better.

The menus we thrown on the table and the host just walked away. He then went to another table to seat a party of 3, he was very cordial and attentive to their needs.

He explained the specials, took their drink orders, and made them feel welcomed. By the way, the Margaritas were premixed from Costco, not authentic from the bar.

We ordered street tacos with shredded chicken and were served chunk and shredded mix that looked like the scrapings from another uneatened plate.

The servers were not pleasant, served us like we were interrupting their day. I will no longer endorse this restaurant and we not return.

We just returned from Mexico and this place doesn't come close to the level of service and quality of food we had in Mexico.

La Fogata is now La Forgetaboutit!

Too bad the overall service has declined. As a chef and foodie, I offer a very unbiased review of this establishment. I have a discerning palette and don't understand the sterling reviews about this place. What is it being...

Normally, I love La Fogata and recommend it to everyone—I’m a regular, and their burritos are some of the best around. But my visit on July 25 around 2 PM was a big letdown.

My colleague and I stopped by after work, both starving. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito (no cheese, no sour cream, no rice), and my friend ordered a California burrito with chorizo. Instead, my friend got a bacon breakfast burrito, and mine came loaded with extra sour cream, extra rice, barely any chorizo, and no guacamole. Basically the opposite of what I asked for.

I called right away, and the cashier apologized, but nothing could be done at the time. I get that mistakes happen, but driving off hungry with food you can’t eat is a rough experience, especially when you’re looking forward to a meal.

I’ll still recommend La Fogata because I think they’re one of the best in the area, but I hope they can be more careful with orders in the...

I read all of the reviews and thought, "Wow, finally a great Mexican restaurant and close to me in Loomis! We were so excited to try it. We went with my son and daughter in law and their 4 boys, so there were 8 of us. The service was soooo slow (and probably the kitchen's fault, not the waitress). They would bring out one dish at a time. My 7 year old grandson was so patient. I actually think they forgot his, because we were all done eating and I kept saying that we still needed his chicken enchiladas. The sauce on my chili verde tasted like a can of green enchilada sauce and a can of chicken broth mixed together. The chicken in his chicken enchiladas tasted like boiled chicken with absolutely NO seasoning-not even salt. Luckily the kids were great-their patience was way better than mine. So, I don't think I will be going back. If it's like this at 5:00 on a Sunday, what's it like on...
