Mattie Jane’s is everything that little ol’ Loris needed. 😍 I am absolutely THRILLED to have Sherrie and the boys here in town. The delicious baked goods are truly just the icing on the cake (pun intended). It’s the family story, the hospitality, the sense of community… this bakery is the total package.

On Thursday afternoon I picked up a pecan pie and a chocolate pumpkin delight cake to take to a friend’s for dinner. Most of us had a hard time choosing, and ended up at least tasting both. The cake was rich and dare I say, moist! The pecan pie was perfectly baked, with a firm top layer and creamy, crunchy custard. The crust was on par.

Friday morning, I brought my best friend in to try something! Before we had finished choosing, we had already spend 20 minutes chatting with Sherrie & Jay. We left with a loaf of cinnamon bread, an Apple fritter, a cheese danish, a vanilla cupcake and a key lime & coconut cookie (only half made it out the front door). I of course had to taste test it all (except the cupcake) and I’m proud to say, I’ve yet to try anything that fell short.

My boyfriend had dinner with his family later that evening. He loved the cheese danish so much I told him he should run down and see if they had any to bring to dinner! He ended getting an assortment of goodies to share and of course, they were a hit.

Thank you Sherrie, Jay and I’ve yet to meet the third of the trio but I know I soon will! Your passion, hospitality and of course talents are much appreciated. I look forward to what the future holds for Mattie Jane’s and this little town I’m learning to...

Mattie Jane’s Bakery in Loris,SC is a lovely surprise for us locals in Green Sea,SC! I thought I was going to drive to LittleRiver before I found a bakery, (too far). The store is in a charming part of downtown Loris on Main Street and they make a variety of baked goods. They made my dad’s 87th birthday cake for me last week and it was a hit at his party. A spice cake with cream cheese frosting, I requested the frosting to be low in sugar and it turned out perfect. Cake was so soft and frosting had just the right amount of sugar, so that it wasn’t too sweet or too tangy as cream cheese frosting can be at times. Her prices are very fair and within reason for the excellence you are receiving. The homemade cinnamon rolls are off the hook! And the snickerdoodle cookies are to die for! I got a caramel frappe. It was just under $7 but it was a bigger size! it was so good! They had sweet treats, lots of coffee and drink options also. It’s so cute and cozy inside also. All the staff was super friendly also. I will definitely be back.

The one single complaint I have, the straw is a tad bit short for the cup. But it isn’t that big of a deal, definitely don’t let it stop you from going! You won’t regret coming here 💙💚

Edit: they did fix the straw issue! 🥳 also got a red velvet cupcake today, it was so delicious! I still got a caramel frappe, it was so good the first time, I had to get another! ❤️
