Rana Café — Restaurant in Lorton

Really glad that Lorton has a coffee shop with delicious sweets & treats!

I haven’t had their danishes or croissants, although I’ve ordered their cakes such as the tiramisu, tres leches and their chocolate mousse!

So far my favorite is the Tiramisu (really creamy and sweet enough for a brunch dessert!)

About the ambiance, It looks like a Deli, but no sandwiches or salads are offered hahaha. The place is always clean and you would be fine going to networking there (check if they have wifi!) The owners are really nice and attentive! The place is pretty new, so they are still figuring out stuff in their cash register, so please be a little bit patient with them!

Highly recommend the cardamom Turkish coffee!!! Their speciality! Coming back for their mango dessert and...

I visited this establishment during the late rush hour and grabbed three cold drinks...an ice latte, iced mocha, and their version of a frappuccino. There wasn't anything exceptional about the drinks and I am a coffeehouse. The drinks were, cold, iced, and very sweet so they definitely hit the spot on a warm summer evening.

I plan to visit and try one if their hot offerings. I also picked up some if their Chocolate croissants which appear to be catered. They had a combination of other sweets ranging from cake and baklava to tiramisu and jelly-paste pastries.

The prices were decent and the attendants making the drinks was deliberate and friendly. I'll update once I try the hot drinks but for now this cafe is a welcome addition to pretty much to a barren Lorton in...

Finally, a quality local family-owned and operated cafe ☕️! Jerome was so kind and really knew his way around the espresso machine. I had an oat cappuccino with an Egyptian dessert called “basboosa.” My friend had the ham and cheese croissant 🥐 sandwich and a tea. All the food and coffee was great. To go, I brought home some mango 🥭 mousse cake and “roz bil laban,” the Egyptian version of arroz con leche 🍚 🥛 . They have so many dessert and drink options like tiramisu and Neapolitan 🍰. The vibe is peaceful and friendly. A great place to bring a friend, grab breakfast or have a meeting. They open early too! Great for stopping by after a workout 🏋️ at Golds Gym next door.
