If you’re in the Granda Hills area, stop in for some Persian food at @alibabapersianrestaurant They have been around for 17 years. Their kabobs are really popular for the lunch crowd. They have also catered for many large events and their restaurant can accommodate large groups as well. It wasn’t too busy when we went in for dinner. The host and servers were very friendly. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Hummus Creamy puree of chickpeas and tahini seasoned with lemon juice and garlic. Very good flavor. I love a good homemade hummus. I also like their thin, crispy homemade pita bread. Ali Baba Special Kabob Pieces of filet mignon, seasoned ground sirloin kabob and broiled boneless chicken chunks. Served with basmati rice, grilled bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. This feeds 2 people. This allows you to try 3 different kabobs. Delicious Persian food. Wonderful presentation. I’d like to try their Rack of Lamb next time. Overall, we enjoyed our time here.✨ Update 3-18-2023 ✨ DELICIOUS PERSIAN FOOD IN GRANADA HILLS ✨ - Hummus : so good - Sabzi Khordan (Fresh array of herbs (mint, basil, tarragon, radish and green onion) served with feta cheese and walnut) If you’re getting salad, you may want to get another appetizer. - Beef Soltani Kabob (Combination of skewered tenderloin beef and a skewer of ground beef. Cooked over an open fire and served with BBQ tomato and basmati rice or salad) - Adas Polo Lamb Shank (Rice mixed with lentils, sautéed dates, raisins, fried onion and saffron. Lamb Shank so tender.) Loved this dish! Service was so very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Recently visited Ali Baba Persian Restaurant and ordered a variety of dishes to get the annexperience here. For appetizers, I had the Kashke Bademjan, Hummus, and Dolme—the Kashke Bademjan stood out with its rich flavor, while the hummus and dolme were good complements. The Mast-o-Khiar yogurt on the side was light and refreshing. For the main courses, the clear winner was the Vegetarian Gormeh Sabzi. Deeply aromatic and full of flavor, easily the best dish of the evening even though it was made vegetarian. The Chicken Tahchin was enjoyable, though not exceptional. The Koobideh Kebab was decent, but the Fesenjoon leaned far too sweet and missed the balance I was hoping for. The rice servings which came along each dish was too dry, like really very dry. Shirazi salad saved the dish somehow. To finish, I tried the Faalodeh for dessert, which was very refreshing and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Food: some great highlights, but also a few misses. Service: very friendly and attentive staff. Thanks to all there. Atmosphere: interior felt a bit dull due to low lighting. Personal opinion! Overall, Ali Baba offers a pleasant Persian dining experience, with appetizers, the Gormeh Sabzi, and the Faalodeh being the real standouts. Would love to visit them again.

6/7/2024 Lunch Special foods are great, especially the Cornish Game Hen Kabob at $19.00, including fresh House Garden Salad. 3/17/2024 This Persian restaurant has been in business for 17 years. 1) The appetizer HUMMUS is so fresh, a 5 star dish; 2) FESENJAN STEW is 5 star, before taking my first bite of FESENJAN STEW (Sauteed ground walnut, cooked in pomegranate sauce and served with steamed basmati rice), I am not sure it will fit my taste. Right after my tasting, a nonstop eating with steamed basmati rice took place.; 3) BAKLAVA (Pastry made with layers of phyllo dough filled with chopped walnut and pistachio and cream) and tea are 5 star; 4) A signature dish, GHORMEH SABZI STEW, is okay. The restaurant is also specializing for catering. I really like a fragrant smell in its clean bathroom.

This is my second review of Ali Baba. We've been coming here for dinner for the past 3 years and every time we have left extremely satisfied with the food, the service and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. This time around, I inquired about catering services as I wanted to share this delicious food with family and friends at our Baby Shower. I spoke with Ali, the owner, he gave me recommendations as to what I should serve for a party of 100 people while keeping me within budget. Ali personally delivered the chafers I would be needing the evening prior to our event, walked me through the warm up process prior to ensure the food would be at the perfect temperature before serving. The day of our event, food was served on time before guests arrived. Boy oh boy, FOOD was a hit! Everyone was raving about the the quality and taste of both the Meat and the Chicken. The Mast-o-khiar (cucumber yogurt) and the humus were on point. We had more than enough rice. At the end of the party, people were asking if we had any left overs to take home with them. Both my wife and I cannot be thankful enough for Ali and his team for taking such good care of us and for serving up such exquisite food. Will definitely be using them for our future parties and date nights with the wife, a must...

Horrible Service & ZERO class

I had a been a customers for a couple of years. They delivered chicken instead of lamb by mistake one day. I called immediately and the owner (male) told me to keep the meal and I'll get full credit next time since it was too late for another delivery. A couple weeks later I ordered again and called to have my credit applied. A middle age female told me she'll have to call the owner and get back to me. She called back and said she will only give me half credit because I kept the meal. I told her I don't eat chicken. I threw the meal away and I was willing to give it back but they didn't come get it. Not my fault they delivered the wrong meal. She agreed but did not refund the tax. I asked what about the tax. She relunctantly refunded the tax but seemed unhappy. However, their son (who drives late model MBenz) never spoke a word to me again when he delivered. Simply handed the food and left. No hello, no thank you, no good bye or anything. Just no class. All this over $12.50 plus tax.

I never ordered from that place again. The food wasn't even that great. The lamb chops are dried half of the time like they have been left in the freezer for too long. This was back in the days before other better and classier restaurants were available for...
