Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I posted this last week on yelp, but I wanted my opinion to be made very evident to this store. Two Saturdays ago, I had the displeasure of being made to feel uncomfortable during our meal. I was seated near the bar after waiting for a while, but my server was quick and attentive, trying to make it better for us. I come here about once a week to enjoy the happy hour specials with my girls and, as a woman, have noticed a manager who makes weird comments to the bartenders, which I can only categorize as suggestive, as I'm usually at or near the bar ( he's bald and a little tall, looks hispanic, and usually wearing a colored button up so i assume he's a manager). i've also noticed he tends to look the bartenders up and down, or checking them out you could say. it makes me feel uncomfortable as these girls look pretty young, and as a young woman myself, it's only natural that my friends and I would feel on edge. The general energy he brings to the store is incredible negative, as he also tends to stand at the end of the bar and stare at the servers in the restaurant then storm off suddenly. It's gotten so weird, that my friends and I are generally very observant of his behavior. Anyways, in the middle of our meal this past Saturday, we overheard some discourse at the bar where this server was waiting for his drinks , which followed by that manager storming off quickly and a server following him. it sounded like a small argument had happened but everyone else who was standing there stood there confused after he stormed off. We thought he was finally gone so we could relax, but moments later, we began to hear shouting coming from the kitchen, which made me and my friends VERY uncomfortable, we go to Applebee's to eat and laugh and have fun?? Not hear a poor server get verbally abused for, honestly, to us, nothing. a couple minutes later after we left, we witnessed that same sever standing by the ramp that leads to the exit with his eyes puffy and teary eyed, speaking to another server. this made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable as we realized that the manager had screamed at this server and made him cry. what kind of a restaurant is this? where the managers are screaming at their staff when the restaurant is full and making them cry? especially loud enough to where people can hear you? i'll be contacting corporate and asking them what they plan to do about this creepy and aggressive manager. Or, you're just loosing a customer. if you go here, beware...

It is the third time I visit the place since the first two times I had excellent service and a delicious dinner, I recommended my friends and family to go there, unfortunately today we had a terrible experience, the waitress SIVAN had an uncomfortable attitude of attending us,she asked us which drinks to start, we told her to give us a time since ,we were just looking at the menu, when he left he didn't come back anymore and we had to raise our hand so that he could take the order ,At the time she handed us the order, you could see that the food was burnt and I told the waitress and without apologizing or anything, she just said ok for a moment, leaving the food on the table, she went to the kitchen, returned and took the dishes and when she returned she just left them and left, without asking us if we wanted to add something else, we had to call her repeatedly since she never approached our table to ask if everything was correct with the order or if we wanted something more as the other waitresses did the previous times we visited the restaurant At the time we were already finishing our dinner a cockroach began to walk on our table and made us scream telling the waitress to change the table because there was an insect on the table, we showed her the photo and she just said ok and she withdrew, we had to leave the table on our own since she did not approach or say anything she only attended to the other tables, making us feel uncomfortable and discriminated against since her discomfort of attending us was too noticeable and she did not understand what we told her when we showed her even with images .The truth is that both the ribs and the waitress' attention were very poor, I'm disappointed but I'm not going to go back to the place that had already become one of...

The reason I’m not giving it a 1 is because the food was delicious. However, customer service was extremely low from our waitress. Her name is Kimberly, and if you get a table with her GOODLUCK trying to get your food, her attention, and just a positive demeanor from her. She did not attend us promptly (this was on a Tuesday), there were no people anywhere and she seemed to not even consider us for even a drink. She stood around mostly at the bar talking with her friends(I assume her regulars) but this was our first time at an Applebee’s restaurant. After waiting almost 20min, she finally decides to come up to us and not even introduces herself or have the decency to be positive for some odd reason. Didn’t tell us the specials that were going on for that day unlike the servers across from us who was so nice, sweet, and had the most up spirited behavior. We had to use a different server to try to communicate with Kimberly to order extra food, take-out boxes, and the receipt. My girlfriend and I decided to tip the other server and not Kimberly because she had this straight poker face, but was happy and loud when her ‘friends’ were at the bar. I cannot complain about the food though. It was delicious but the environment with this server is the reason I will not come back. I do recommend this place BUT if you have Kimberly as your server, I feel bad for you especially if you’re a couple. She seems to not enjoy couples for some odd reason. We were extremely nice to her until the end where I couldn’t even say thank you anymore. She was all happy and smiling at the end when we were leaving already...
