Very bad experience on my visit.
Server was off not sure if tired or on a substance.
Our order was wrong, three out of five plates. Completely wrong, when this was told to her she got upset and then checked her notes and said it was her mistake. Second time around food was right but all 3 plates had the wrong or missing a side. We had to wait close to an hour since we placed the order until we got our food half right 3 times around. After she came, and said our order came with dessert what did we want. We said no our order does not and she was confused. She checked and apologized she thought it did. We asked for the check at that point. Five minutes later she came back and asked if we had decided on dessert, we had to remind her our order didn’t have dessert included and we just wanted the check. This is not normal behavior.
She brought the check and she was charging for two plates we did not get. We called her and she corrected it. We gave her two cards for split payment. Here is where it gets worse. The next morning I woke up to find only my card was charged and the payment was not split… I called and spoke to a general manger (Bryan). He apologized and said I would have a refund in 2-3 days and if I didn’t to call him back.
1 week and 2 days later, still no refund. I call and they say he isn’t in Monday but they will let him know I called and he will update me the next day. Waited a day and no call the whole day! I called back Tuesday at 4:30, they tell me he is gone for the day and to keep waiting for a refund, and very rude they insinuate it’s not their problem. They told me to just wait another 3 days and call back when Bryan was there Friday.
It’s been almost 2 weeks I was not going to complain of the bad service or bad food, I swallowed the cost and just promised never to return. Now I am complaining and writing this review because not only was it a terrible experience I am also $300 down. No call no help. Just unbelievable....
Read moreThe good ol’ @blackangussteakhouse does a lot of things good, but they also do some things great! The jumbo shrimp cocktail and salads are - Great! The service and restaurant were great. Especially considering how old this place is. I love the quiet booths but think they would benefit by lowering the lighting a bit. Too bright!!
— We first visited this place in the 80’s. So although we don’t come here often, we do have some fond old memories of the place. During our recent visit we were impressed with how updated everything was. The booths, which have always been their specialty, were in as good of shape as ever. So the vibe is still pretty positive. We had the Campfire Special and the Jumbo Shrimp were enormous, fresh, and delicious. The chicken & rib combination was very good. The filet mignon was definitely a letdown, relative to almost any other steak houses we frequent. Based on Ambiance and food I would normally give this place a solid 4 stars. However, it was the service that was most disappointing.
We had a server, who I won’t name, that came on strong, with a great attitude and efficiency, but over the meal became almost nonexistent and as the meal was finishing she literally disappeared. We waited for like 20 minutes to get the bill then after another 15 minutes we just went up to the front desk to pay. Of course, that backfired because nobody could cash us out but our waitress, who after another 10 minutes of standing around came back with the bill in hand and asked for my signature. That 45 minutes should have been 15 at the most.
We will try coming back again, soon, and I am sure it will be a much...
Read moreWe had made a reservation online because we were celebrating our anniversary and asked for the celebration package. This was the only thing we had planned for the day so we were excited to see what would be set up for us. When we arrived the host was not at all polite. We were confused when she just took us to a table and said our server would be with us because it was not set up for the celebration package. We arrived about 10 minutes early to our reservation out of respect so they wouldn't need to be inconvenienced further even though we were paying for the package. When we asked the host, she said she would come by and "set it up" when she got the chance. The restaurant was not busy (maybe 4-5 tables were being occupied) so I got upset that the host didn't even bother to read our reservation instructions or the fact that it was an extra charge. Our server was great, she was clearly busy as she was the only server on the floor but made sure we were doing well. We told her we didn't want the package anymore after waiting 30 more minutes on the rude host. We made the most of what we had but as first-timers we were disappointed that we didn't get to take pictures and take a little souvenir home for our anniversary dinner. What was more upsetting was that as we were leaving there were like 5 people crowded at the host stand and none of them answered when we said "thank you." Honestly the customer service here was disappointing, we will definitely think twice about coming to this location when we want to celebrate something. The food was good but the service killed it...
