Carrusel Bakery — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Rude, absolutely rude. We’ve been ordering from this place for as long as I can remember, have placed large orders for gatherings and have recommended this place to friends and family members. We are hurt to have had our family member called a “babosa” by an employee when attempting to place a large order on the phone for students at a local high school. It’s a shame that this happened because of our past experiences with them. We’ve never had this kind of treatment and have been met with kindness and respect in the past. Despite their popularity, we are no longer ordering food from Carrusel Bakery and will recommend other places to our friends and family members that have more humble and respectful employees, with the same quality of food.

I could honestly say they’re the best pupusas in the valley. I am originally from HOLLYWOOD so I was having a hard time finding a place that actually had good pupusas. I found it. And the champurrado is a plus, so delicious. We’ve also had the yucca frita con chicharron, bomb. The platanos fritos con cream and frijol, bomb! The tamales de pollo are also good, simple, with no chicken bones, just chicken. I’m not much of a bread person, but pastries are good also. Staff has been very friendly always. I guess the price of 10 pupusas is the same as the price of a dozen and I had no idea (they have like a dozen special I guess) but they always make sure to let me know when they don’t have to and could just sell me the 10 for the price of 12, so I...

HORRIBLE. That is one thing I can say about this place. The waitress was surving me and I ordered the yuca and chicharon plate, the chicharon was burnt, she surved me to much yuca, AND while she was making it a piece of chicharon fell into the champurado I ordered. She was going to continue to give it to me like that, so when I confronted her she said yes it did fall in there, then continued to ask me to wait another 30 minutes for one. Absolutely not okay.
