PandaBento — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I liked the offerings from this place. Prices were very good also. l ordered a Bento L Box and Spam Musubi (2 Pcs). The portion size was quite generous except for the rice. I mean, c'mon...Asians gotta have their rice! 2 ice cream size scoops just wasn't enough. The bbq beef was appropriately, thinly-sliced but it was quite tough. There were a few pretty fatty and chewy pieces one of which had a very off-taste. I literally had spit that one out. The beef needed the extra teriyaki sauce it came with. Otherwise, there wasn't much flavor. The karaage chicken was adequately crispy and had a little flavor but definitely could've used a lot more. Again, it needed the white sauce it came with. The one thing that was good was the Spam Musubi (2 Pcs). That's tough to mess up anyway, but it was good nonetheless. I would not recommend this...

So, first off, Joy Hawaiian is no more. Panda Bento has taken over the location and although we were sad to see Joy Hawaiian gone, we decided to give Panda Bento a shot and we are happy we did. The food was fresh and delicious! We ordered for a family of 7 and everyone really enjoyed it. We only have two small criticisms to make- chicken was a little dry and salty but with the macaroni salad and rice, it made for a tasty meal. Wishing Panda Bento the best and we look forward to continuing...

Meat was burnt to the point it was bitter, and rubbery. Short ribs should be tender. Also it was sitting on a bed of raw cabbage to make it look like there was more meat. The short ribs I got were just bones and no meat. The beef had a chemical taste like it was cooked in super old oil.The rice was extremely dry and had a chemical flavor. Overall just a horrible overpriced dish. I will say the macaroni salad was the only thing that was subpar. I would not...
