Caruso's Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This is one of my favorite spots to go to and this is the reason: my son is autistic, He's not a very picky eater more on the moderate side of eating things And Caruso has been the only restaurant we been to where he enjoys everything Big fan of the garlic bread and the pasta even the pizza with all its different toppings. keep in mind My son only likes to eat Little Caesars pepperoni so I was Astonished when he ate the pizza with me.. I've been there say 4 or 5 times already since I last discovered this place a year and a 1/2 ago It is quite a distance from where I'm from. I have a free time to make a trip I go out there. I'm a big fan of their Cadillac. Service is great even pre/post covid. I know a lot of restaurants I've been to precovid have not been doing well on the customer service side of things so I have not written any bad reviews Considering the lack of workforce And that most people just are being lazy right now. This is not a fancy Italian restaurant but has great food! It appears to be understaff with few staff handling many roles but friendly. My main concern will be paying only with cash since I was double charge on my visit. I was notified by my credit card and went to talk to the restaurant manager who confirmed that it was only one charge made from the restaurant. The credit card explained to me that the restaurant payment system is outdated and has an error on their point of sale terminal and staff is running your credit card twice with a double charge. So a dispute was initiated by my credit card. I went back to the restaurant and explained to the manager what my credit card supervisor stated and she still responded the same that it was only one charge. Rude and obnoxious service and the food is overrated. I had chicken parmesan and could taste the rancid oil that was used to cook the breaded chicken breast. Either that or the breaded chicken was frozen and they tossed it into a deep fryer with old oil. The mozzarella cheese on top was so over baked that it turned into rubber. When I asked the server to about the nasty old oil aftertaste she literally told me that this is the way they make their chicken parmesan and if I don't like it I should go somewhere else, then she turned her back and walked away. Really?? Of course I didn't/couldn't eat my entree and when I asked for it to be removed from the check I had to go at it with the manager, who had a similar attitude.
