We hadn't been to Chi's for about 4 years and forgot about why. We were feeling too lazy to go out for dinner so "hey" we thought, let's order take-out Chinese from Chi's! So we did. We ate at home, it was decent enough, we watched a little TV then hit the sack. About 2am this morning I woke up with an intolerable raging headache. I felt like my head was going to explode and the back of my neck ached so bad I had to wake my husband up to help me by massaging my neck to alleviate the horrific pain I had. I was miserable! Now it's 9am in the morning and I am still with a bad throbbing headache and probably could throw up if I leaned over the toilet for 30 seconds. Now HE has a headache too. We both have taken two Bayer Aspirin hoping that our day can be a good one, we figured out why we hadn't been to Chi's in all this time. WE THINK they put in a grip of MSG in their food because something made us real sick eating from that restaurant! MSG is awful, NOT necessary, poison to the body-LOOK IT UP (it's a flavor enhancer) and many people really have these bad reactions to it, like we did. They may deny it (no one will ever know) but I don't need to say that we will NEVER EVER EVER-EVER-Ever dine from that place again!!!!! EATER BEWARE!!! This place made us...

After decades of dining here, I finally feel compelled to put into words what my taste buds and heart have known all along: this place is extraordinary. Tonight, everything aligned—the flavors, the atmosphere, and the people who make it all happen.
From the moment Audrie greeted us with grace and warmth, to Jenny’s attentive and cheerful service, every detail was handled with care. And then there’s Marcos, the owner, whose quiet presence and genuine concern for our comfort remind me why this restaurant has become more than just a place to eat—it’s a place to feel welcome.
The food? Sublime. Familiar yet fresh, comforting yet elevated. It’s the kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite just to savor the moment.
Whether you’re single, married, or bringing the whole family, this gem deserves your visit—and your loyalty. Tell a friend. Bring a neighbor. You won’t just be dining; you’ll be joining a tradition of excellence and heart.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. Consider this...
Read moreThe food is great, however I need to explain my 3 overall rating. I did not notice this area prior and wrote comments under dietary which I cannot erase.
I have been eating here since it was about half the size of the existing restaurant and Chi who is the (Mom) owner was running it. Her name is “Chi”. Yes, not an abbreviation of Chinese.
I have to be honest here as I am not sure who is fooling who. The issue is prices have increased and portions have been cut. For example, order a large wonton soup. It costs about $15. They serve it in a small bowl (although called large) along with about 3-4 ounce cups where the porcelain spoon hardly fits the cup. Order a to go soup and you get one large container. See photo. I ate 1/2 of it. Other restaurants like Bamboo Cuisine in Sherman Oaks provides 2 of the same size.
My opinion is to keep portion sizes as they were and increase prices as required. Please do not try and pull the wool over our eyes. Are we not supposed to notice this? Not sure Momma Chi...
