My family and I were driving through the area looking for some food to eat that wouldn’t take too long or be a whole outing. We drove past this place, saw the sign for empanadas and decided to stop and try it. Oh my gosh, best decision we’ve made in awhile. This was all of our first times trying Chilean food and wow it did not disappoint. We started off with the Palta Raina, a whole avocado cut in half and filled with Chicken salad on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and a boiled egg, which was divine! My brother got the 2 beef empanadas with fries and he was in heaven, we also tried a chicken empanada it was also so so delicious. My mom decided to go with one of their Peruvian dishes, Lomo Saltado, which is steak red onions tomatoes and peppers over fries with a side of rice - honestly by the time it came out, we were so full cause we all wanted to share and try each other’s plates, but we forced ourselves to eat as much as we could cause how could we not, it was worth it. The meat melts in your mouth, cooked to perfection, fries amazing, rice delicious. Lastly, I tried the churrasco with fries, a steak sandwich with an avocado spread, tomatoes, and a strip of mayo. Normally it comes on a different type of bread, so they put it on their hotdog bread instead, and honestly I loved it, the bread was so good, and just like the Lomo Saltado, the meat was just perfect and delicious, the avocado was spectacular. Oh and the Maracuya Nectar juice was absolutely divine!! We’re from Hawai’i, and we love our Lilikoi/passion fruit, and omg highly recommended to try it! Our overall experience for a lowkey quick dinner here was just perfect all around. We were all saying how grateful we were to have found this spot and enjoy a delicious family meal together. Thank you so much! We can’t wait...
Read moreI recently visited Chilenazo in Canoga Park, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! As a lover of authentic Chilean cuisine, I was excited to try their offerings, and they did not disappoint.
I started with their Empanadas de Pino, which were absolutely perfect—flaky on the outside and filled with a flavorful blend of ground beef, onions, hard-boiled eggs, and olives. The seasoning was spot-on, and the empanada had the perfect balance of savory and satisfying flavors.
Next, I indulged in their Completo Italiano, a classic Chilean hot dog that’s topped with avocado, tomato, and mayo. It was unlike any hot dog I’ve had before—fresh, delicious, and filling. The bread was soft, and the ingredients came together beautifully. A must-try for anyone who loves a unique twist on a familiar favorite.
But the real star of the meal was the Lomo a lo Pobre. The steak was juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection, paired with fried eggs and crispy fries, which soaked up the yolk for that extra richness. It’s a hearty, flavorful dish that really showcases Chilean comfort food at its best.
To top it all off, I had Chilenazo’s Tres Leches Cake for dessert, which was a sweet, creamy finish to the meal. Moist and delicious, it melted in my mouth with every bite.
The service was friendly and welcoming, making the whole dining...
Read moreThough I've only been there twice (two days in a row), I've already have realized that this is my new favorite restaurant. Though keep in mind, this is no McDonalds, where everything is super cheap and takes no more than five minutes to make. The food can take about half an hour, and the first time I went, I found myself a tad impatient. However, the second time, I found myself waiting as you would in the line for a rollercoaster. The line is long and takes a while, but the reward is more than worth it. Also, keep in mind that the staff speaks Spanish far more fluently than English, so it'll be a lot easier for you if you speak fluent Spanish. I recommend the Beer-Battered Fish, because first of all, it's seasoned perfectly, and cooked just enough so that it's both moist and flaky. And did I mention that it's hard to keep on your fork? But in all reality if you try it, you won't care that it won't stay on your fork because it's so...
