Breakfast here is stellar. Their whole menu is Thai-influenced, so their sandwich selection is unique and really filling! They also roast their coffee and make a lot of other things (such as their sausage patties) in-house which I am always impressed by. The espresso I ordered was a lovely dark roast with strong citrus notes, not for the faint or anti-acidic coffee lover, but absolutely perfect for my tastebuds. Service was friendly and the line wasn’t too long. The supervised lot they’re located in has l parking out front, but during peak hours I imagine it would be difficult to get in. I came around 10:30am on a Wednesday and it was mostly empty. Plenty of outlets, tables and seating for those who need to work remote. The music volume is reasonable and they were playing a mix of ambient and light trap when I was waiting for my food&drink. The only criticism I can think of is that their coffee prices are at least a $1.25 higher than other coffee houses. Since they roast in-house I would expect it to be lower due to being able to save on costs? I could be wrong though, I’ve never run a coffee shop so… in any case, definitely worth a repeat or for you to check out en route to work.

Chimney C.H. is a small specialty coffee shop in Chinatown on N. Main and Llewellyn street. They opened back in 2010, on a small plaza, to serve the community with good coffee, breakfast/lunch food and pastries. Interior atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. It's inside has a spacious loft type of design with high ceiling, plenty of natural light, exposed brick wall, large vents, bose speakers and art wall paintings. Moreover, they have a small outdoor front patio for those who want fresh LA air. I came here early Friday morning before going to work and I ordered their brewed coffee and three stack pancakes. I liked their perfectly brewed coffee. Pancakes (with chopped pecan, butter cream and raspberry syrup) were really fluffy, soft and flavorful. However, they over did the rasberry syrup. Staff was nice, competent and professionl. Service was mildly fast. Prices were fair and within the market value. They offer delivery service. Free WiFi at slow speed mbps. Wish they upgrade the speed. Ample of parking in the plaza. Overall it's good place to hangout and drink coffee.

Wow! What a great-find! This place seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but seriously, it’s hopping! And I can see why! Their food choices on the menu were very unique and I like that some has Thai-touch to it like the Larb Burger. It’s quiet relaxing and laid back, not super crowded or not too fancy. It feels comfortable and laid back enough to just work on your stuff or to hang out with people. Their mocha was well-balanced and delicious, and their pastries were exceptional!! Their guava croissant was so good and never seen in else where! Their other pastries looked enticing such as brownie croissant and matcha scone. I got a grilled cheese with tomato soup. Tomato soup was on-point, the grilled cheese was overly greasy. But the sourdough bread was so good. The chicken burger was so good and juicy! Their service was good, especially the gentleman was uber kind. It was fairly clean and I enjoyed my visits here. I’m going back to try their larb burger and the pastries!

Last week, I got a coffee from this place as I have been for the past two years. Unfortunately I will not be returning because the business is located in a strip mall that is controlled by a racist parking manager. I was sitting in my car for 20 mins after getting my coffee because I had to take a call. There is always ample parking throughout the day and zero signage indicating parking time limits. A petite woman comes out to order me to leave once my call is done. I inform her I purchased a drink then she returns 20 mins later and again orders me to leave except this time she follows me to the chimney cafe to ensure I buy more food which I planned to do anyways. I alerted Chimney cafe via Instagram as this type of treatment of their customers is not excusable. This racial harassment or policing of brown people is inexcusable - which I pointed out to the two male security guards who claim they will look into the situation. If you are brown I don’t recommend this establishment at all. Spend your hard earned...
