Tried the caldo de gallina, it was a dissapointment, it came with one yellow potato and it was undercooked, i was told that it is steamed and added to the final plate, the soup did not have a good taste, it tasted in fact as if everything was prepared separate and added together at the last second, the broth had a very dull and plain taste; we also tried the tallarin verde and tallarin a la huancaina, the huancaina sauce and green sauce of the tallarin verde tasted to cream cheese instead of fresh cheese, the service was really slow, they "forgot" to prepare the order of someone in our group even though we reminded them 3 times, I did not get a spoon for my soup and had to ask 3 times for one. We were charged $2.50 for a glass of lemonade and same amount for a tea, the sauces they bring to you come in very small containers, you have to ask for additional sauce several times before they bring it to you, the inside area is to small, the outside is to loud and you get all the smoke from the bus stop in front of the place, tiny parking area, etc for the prices you pay I suggest to try...

I ordered through Grubhub online for pickup order and showed up 5 minutes before it's time to check on my order and they told me they gave my order to a driver to be delivered. I showed my online order to prove that it was a pick up and not a delivery and asked how we were going to fix the situation and the lady manager told me she was too busy to help me and for me to contact grubhub to find out what happened with the driver. So I contacted grubhub and they said they didn't send a driver and they would contact the restaurant to speak to the manager but she told them she wouldn't fix the situation and it's not her fault. So how could it not be their fault giving my food which was paid for in advance to a driver when the order says pickup. But the big issue is the manager at the Van Nuys location said she wouldn't put in another order unless I pay a second time. Which is ridiculous since I paid once and didn't get my food!!! I guess Chio's doesn't know anything about customer service!!! I will never go back to a restaurant that makes a mistake and blames it on the customer.......

The food is delicious UNFORTUNATELY there is a guy who is INCREDIBLY RUDE. The ladies are customer service oriented but idk who the guy is has absolutely NO SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Will never order and will never recommend. Placed an order at 5:30pm was told going to take about 30 to 40 minutes no problem. Some guy calls back 25 minutes later asking for apartment number. I called at 6:25pm was told order has left for delivery. I called backed at 6:43pm because the restaurant is literally 2 blocks away from me. The lady on the phone was trying her best to try and find out the status of my order however whoever the guy was who got on the phone and said what am I supposed to do made me SUPER UPSET!!! I’m a customer waiting for my food over an hour!! RUDE RUDE RUDE So I told him to cancel my order immediately. I do not want it. The food was delivered at 7pm and I did declined the food.

So for that guy who responded to me what you want me to do then your food was returned so you can do whatever you...

Delicious food it’s the best I’ve ever had, must have every time I’m in LA, the staff is super nice and attentive!

Was craving some Saltado for a while. I ordered takeout and was disappointed for a second time. The portion of fries doubled the portion of meat/veggies. There wasn’t enough broth to even cover half of the fries. I understand separating the fries for takeout so they don’t get soggy but overall this dish is likely best to get fresh instead of takeout/delivery. Also got the Yuca a La Huancaina, but they forgot the cheese sauce. Even kindly requested extra Aji sauce that I didn’t receive, which would’ve helped with the fact the Saltado lacked broth and the yuca lacked its own sauce as listed. Overall a dry, overpriced experience.
